What the role looks like

We're looking for a Data Analyst who is curious, analytical, and motivated to help our business leverage data effectively. As part of a hybrid team of data experts, you will play a key role in delivering data-driven insights to support business decisions, improve data quality across the organization and translate business needs into clear and actionable data specifications.

As a Data Analyst, you will:

  • Analyze data to generate actionable insights, support business decisions and identify opportunities, trends, risks and operational improvements.
  • Perform ad hoc and recurring analyses to support strategic and operational initiatives across DKV.
  • Monitor and improve data quality by identifying inconsistencies, anomalies and root causes, and collaborate with business and technical teams to drive corrective actions.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand, challenge and clarify their needs, helping them define business rules, KPIs and data requirements.
  • Translate business needs into clear data specifications and structured requirements that can be effectively implemented by technical teams.
  • Contribute to a data-driven culture by promoting best practices, improving data literacy and exploring opportunities to leverage analytics, AI and modern data capabilities.

Required skills and competencies

Background and personal skills

  • You hold a bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field (Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Business Engineering, Computer Science, Information Management, or equivalent).
  • You have at least 3 years of experience in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Reporting, Data Quality, or a related field.
  • You have a strong analytical mindset and enjoy investigating business questions through data.
  • You are structured, detail-oriented and committed to delivering high-quality work.
  • You are able to understand business processes and challenge requirements constructively when needed.
  • You enjoy acting as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams.
  • You can communicate complex data concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • You are proactive, curious and continuously looking for opportunities to improve processes and data quality.
  • You have a good command of English, and Dutch and/or French.
  • You can work responsibly with sensitive data and understand the importance of frameworks such as GDPR and the EU AI Act.

Technical Skills

We do not expect you to be an expert yet, but you should bring a good foundation and strong willingness to grow:

  • Strong knowledge of SQL and data analysis techniques (mandatory).
  • Experience with Power BI and data visualization best practices.
  • Good understanding of data modeling concepts and relational databases.
  • Experience performing data profiling, data validation and data quality assessments.
  • Experience gathering and documenting business and data requirements.
  • Familiarity with ETL concepts, data flows and data integration is a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of Python, Databricks, Azure Data Platform or similar technologies is a plus.
  • Interest in AI, generative AI and advanced analytics applied to business challenges is highly appreciated.
