Job Overview:
We are looking for a Senior IoT Standards Expert to join the Huawei CBG Standards & Industry Development Department in Europe. The role focuses on IoT standardization, OpenHarmony industry ecosystem development, and European IoT policy/regulation, in support of Huawei CBG’s European and global Harmony ecosystem building and business strategy.
Main Responsibilities:
- Standardization: Represent Huawei in BoD, committees, and working groups of CSA and other related global IoT industry alliances. Track CSA standard development and drive the synergy between CSA standards and CBG's industry development.
- Industry Insight: Produce high-quality insight reports on IoT and Smart Device OS technology, industry trends and standard & regulation in European and global markets. Generate briefings and strategic recommendations for Huawei CBG European and corporate teams.
- Ecosystem Development: Drive the growth of the Harmony ecosystem and the Global Intelligent IoT Consortium (GIIC) in Europe, including but not limited to, establishing collaboration with leading European industry organizations, e.g., ECMA, W3C, CSA etc., exploring cooperation opportunities with local developers and partners, and growing GIIC membership.
- Strategic Engagement: Establish and maintain communication channels between Huawei senior leadership and European IoT alliance executives, to facilitate strategic collaboration with EU IoT industry.
- Industry Policy and Regulation: Track and engage with European IoT and smart device operating system-related industry policies, regulations and certifications.
Competency Requirements
- Educational Background: BS degree or above in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or IoT-related fields.
- Standardization Expertise: Familiar with EU and international standards, regulation and policies and certification schemes in IoT and/or smart device OS. Previous service in global industry organization and SDO BoD and working groups is preferred.
- Technical Competence: Solid understanding of IoT architecture, technology stacks and or product developments, and good knowledge of operating systems for IoT and smart devices.
- Communication Skills: Excellent internal and external communication skills, experienced in representing the company at board-level meetings, industry summits, and high-level stakeholder engagements. Comfortable working in multicultural and cross-functional teams.
- Language Skills: English is the working language (both spoken and written). Mandarin Chinese is an asset for collaboration with global teams.
