Details of the Role:

The Overhead Crane Technician is responsible for the technical maintenance and troubleshooting of the thermal galvanizing installations at Limburgse Galvanisatie in Maasmechelen.

Responsibilities of the role:

• Performing recurring maintenance on installations (burners, overhead cranes (70%), extraction systems, monorail systems, immersion baths, zinc kettle, etc.).
• Troubleshooting and resolving electrical or mechanical faults on the installations, mostly overhead cranes
• Developing solutions to minimize breakdowns and reduce downtime as much as possible.
• Organizing the technical on-call service.
• Replacing parts
• Advising management on technical optimizations and supporting the implementation of these improvements.
• Maintenance = 65%
• Troubleshooting = 30%
• 5% production support (mainly restarting operations after issues)
• 50% electrical faults and 50% mechanical faults.so50/50 split between mechanical and electrical tasks
• Cleaning duties

Background/experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Electromechanics or equivalent through experience.

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in technical maintenance and troubleshooting of installations in an industrial environment, with proven experience in supervising technical staff.

• Experience with thermal galvanizing installations is a plus.

• No fear of heights.
• 33% PLC-related work (recent investment in PLC-controlled machines)
• Basic knowledge of overhead cranes, monorails, and electricity is essential
