Your role
As an experienced and motivated Business / Functional Analyst, you are part of a small senior start-up team, which lays the foundations of the platform before the development ramp-up. You are the translator between the business and IT: you collect needs, model information and write specifications that drive AI-assisted development, with a systematic human review. It is a phased journey with clear decision milestones.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead workshops with content managers, subject matter experts and key users (internal and external).
  • Map the current processes: writing, translation, validation, publication and depublication.
  • Establish a functional inventory of the existing application: search, taxonomy, subscriptions, user profiles.
  • Collect and prioritize requirements (MoSCoW) and build, manage, and refine the product backlog.
  • Define personas and user journeys (internal employee, external professional, citizen, API partner, AI tools).
  • Specify the classification model for documents (public, internal, restricted, embargo) and formalize the publication rules with the business.
  • Write intent specifications that drive an AI-assisted development pipeline, with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Functionally validate increments and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Bridging the gap between business and IT, and diving into data (SQL) yourself to support hypotheses.

Your profile

  • Extensive experience as a Business/Functional Analyst in complex IT and data environments.
  • Strong in requirements engineering and writing specifications with acceptance criteria (e.g., Volère/Robertson, use case, Gherkin).
  • Comfortable with Agile methods: epics, user stories, story maps, backlog management.
  • Mastery of process and information modeling: BPMN, UML, conceptual/information models.
  • Data-oriented: Good knowledge of SQL and affinity for data analysis and visualization (Power BI, Python).
  • Experience in data modeling and/or data governance is a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of API programs and integration patterns (event-driven, pub/sub) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture notations (Archimate, TOGAF) is a plus.
  • Languages: Dutch (mother tongue or equivalent), good knowledge of French and English.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and results-oriented, with an eye for the big picture and detail in the data.
