Job description:

You will work within a close-knit and experienced team. You work together with about 30 colleagues: software engineers, application managers, IT architects, etc. In addition, you are also in contact with business and solution analysts. So you can count on a lot of internal expertise and knowledge.

What do you do concretely?:

You write COBOL programs in your own written B2B package.

Our projects in a B2B context can have to do with invoicing, item details, item prices, customer management, ...

You develop, test and implement the solutions.

You will delve into the Application  integrationwith other platforms or packages and ensures a smooth integration.

In the event of incidents, you analyze what went wrong, propose a solution and follow up.

Our B2B package is a REDHAT linux environment that is virtualized (VMWARE). On this server we use an enterprise ORACLE 19 database, with the EASYMAP tool for integration with our ACUCOBOL 85 software development language.

For our integrated cobol web services, we use JAVA SDK and the Apache Ant tool (HTTP/SOAP XML). Finally, our java based web applications are hosted by an IBM Websphere Application Server (WAS).

Profile:

Knowledge and experience - You have at least 5 experience as a COBOL software engineer. It's a plus if you've already worked with an enterprise Oracle database.
Open-minded and eager to learn - You are naturally eager to learn and make grateful use of the expertise of your colleagues.
Analytical and solution-oriented – You immediately see the core of a problem and can quickly formulate a targeted solution.
Flexible – You can deal well with (sudden) changes or problems
Communicative and customer-oriented – You work fluently with different personalities and profiles. You put the interests of the end user first, and communicate your point of view or solution clearly and constructively with all parties involved.
Involvement – You feel involved in the growth of the organization and, together with us, you value respect, openness and teamwork.
Language skills – You communicate fluently in Dutch and English, so that you can work well with all your colleagues, partners and stakeholders. Knowledge of Dutch is a requirement: all comments in sources are in Dutch. Knowledge of French is a plus.
