Solution Architect — Employee Benefits Transformation
Join AXA Belgium’s Architecture team at a pivotal moment for the Life Corporate (Employee Benefits) domain. As part of a multi-year transformation programme, you will shape the architecture behind new digital capabilities and shared technology foundations across the AXA ecosystem. You will influence strategic decisions, introduce modern technologies and platforms, and guide solutions from initial design through successful delivery.
The opportunity
As Solution Architect, you will connect business ambition with technology execution. You will work across business, architecture, security, engineering, and delivery teams to define pragmatic solutions that support today’s priorities while moving the domain towards its target architecture. You will report to the Enterprise Architect for the domain and act as a trusted partner throughout the transformation.
Your daily tasks:

• Help define and evolve the domain’s target architecture and transformation roadmap.
• Design pragmatic solutions that balance strategic architecture, business outcomes, delivery timelines, budget, security, and non-functional requirements.
• Explore and propose innovative approaches using modern architectural patterns and technologies.
• Develop solution options, explain trade-offs, and build alignment among business, architecture, security, and delivery stakeholders.
• Promote the reuse of existing capabilities and create reusable assets where they add value.
• Document key architectural decisions across application cooperation, integration, identity and access management, information and technology viewpoints.
• Guide delivery teams and ensure that implemented solutions remain aligned with the agreed architecture.
• Collaborate closely with Enterprise and Business Architects, Delivery Managers, and lead functional and technical engineers.
• Act as a trusted sparring partner and coach within the architecture and engineering community. Must have
skills:
• At least 10 years of relevant experience including 3 years of solution architecture on a large transformation program.
• At least five years of relevant experience in solution architecture, software architecture, or a comparable role.
• Strong knowledge of integration patterns (APIs, services, event-driven architecture, etc.), and architectural concepts (service-oriented architecture, microservices, componentisation, domain-driven design, API-led connectivity, etc.)
• Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS serverless services and containers.
• Knowledge of BPMS and Agentic AI. Experience is an asset.
• Very good knowledge of IT market trends and technology evolution.
• Experience designing solutions with ArchiMate. Knowledge of Sparx EA is an asset.
• The ability to develop and compare solution options against functional and non-functional requirements.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to make complex technical topics clear to business and delivery audiences.
• The ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, listen, and coach.
• A collaborative, structured, proactive, quality-focused, and results-oriented approach.
• The ability to work effectively in an Agile environment and learn quickly.
