Freelance Digital Program Manager
Location:
Antwerp or Amsterdam | Hybrid Contract: Freelance
Experience:
8+ years leading complex digital product or technical programs, coordinating software, product and cross-functional workstreams through release and launch Own complex digital programs and help turn connected experiences into reliable releases. We’re looking for an experienced freelance Digital Program Manager who can step in, get up to speed quickly and take ownership of complex digital delivery. You’ll lead high-priority programs across companion apps, connected-product experiences, platform capabilities and digital feature portfolios. You’ll bring the structure, judgment and momentum needed to keep teams aligned, surface risks early and turn complex digital dependencies into a program everyone can execute against. The role You step into ownership from the start. You’ll connect Product, Digital Product Design, Software Engineering, Firmware, Operations, Marketing and NPD Program Management, creating visibility across scope, milestones, dependencies, risks, capacity and release readiness. As a freelance Digital Program Manager, you’ll work independently within Loop’s existing teams and governance structures. You’ll make sure digital deliverables are integrated into the broader product and commercial roadmap, quickly identifying what matters, where delivery is at risk and what needs to happen next. Product retains ownership of product strategy, scope and prioritization. Software Engineering owns technical decisions, estimates and quality. You own bringing the digital program together, driving alignment and accountability, and keeping delivery moving. What you’ll do (and what you won’t)
• You own integrated program and release plans across app development, platform engineering and connected-product software.
• You turn product scope and engineering estimates into clear milestones and executable workstreams.
• You connect digital releases with firmware, hardware, validation, operations, marketing and commercial launch plans.
• You maintain one reliable view of digital delivery, dependencies, risks, capacity and release readiness.
• You spot sequencing conflicts, critical dependencies and resource constraints early, then drive mitigation and actions through to closure.
• You coordinate capacity and budget inputs across digital functions and external partners, maintaining visibility against approved scope.
• You run effective digital program governance, including risk management, scope and change control, release-readiness reviews, decision tracking and escalation.
• You translate technical progress, risks and changes into clear product and business impact, giving teams and leadership decision-ready information. You won’t
• wait to be told what needs attention when the signals are already there.
• hide behind processes when a decision or escalation is needed.
• take product or technical ownership away from the teams accountable for strategy, architecture, engineering quality or prioritization.
• talk about AI without practicing it in your workflow. How you’ll succeed You’ll bring experience, structure and sound judgment from day one. You’ll quickly create a reliable view of digital delivery across complex programs, giving teams clarity on what needs to happen, where dependencies sit and what could put delivery or release readiness at risk. Success means digital milestones are delivered predictably and at the expected quality, release readiness is clear, and resource constraints surface early. Digital plans stay aligned with product and commercial roadmap priorities, while dependencies across software, firmware, hardware and launch activities are actively managed. You’ll apply consistent digital program governance across planning, risk management, change control and release readiness. When scope, timing, priorities, resources or external-partner budgets need to change, you’ll bring the right stakeholders a clear assessment, options and recommendation. What you’ll bring
• You bring at least 8 years of experience leading complex digital product or technical programs.
• You can step into an existing digital program environment, get up to speed quickly and operate with a high degree of independence.
• You can turn product scope, engineering estimates and technical dependencies into clear, executable program and release plans.
• You can coordinate software, product and cross-functional workstreams while maintaining visibility across milestones, risks, capacity, budgets and readiness.
• You can navigate competing priorities and recommend trade-offs that protect delivery quality and launch timing.
• You communicate technical progress and risk clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• You’re comfortable working through change and ambiguity without losing momentum.
• You use AI intentionally in your work to improve quality, output, experience or decisions, not just speed. You apply critical judgment to what it produces, validate outputs against a clear bar and stay accountable for the work you deliver.
• You bring the ownership and judgment to make an impact without needing a detailed playbook. This freelance assignment will suit you if you:
• Take initiative and can create momentum quickly.
• Focus on impact rather than activity.
• Are comfortable stepping into work that is still taking shape.
• Know when alignment is needed and when it is time to make a decision. Still listening? Good. We’re looking for someone who can step in and make an impact. Someone who brings experience, speaks up when it matters and takes real ownership of digital delivery. If that sounds like how you work, we’d like to hear from you. AI capability is part of how we assess people working with Loop. During the interview process, we’ll explore how you use AI in your work, where you choose to use it and where you don’t, and how you apply judgment and quality checks to AI-assisted outputs.
