Fluxys is an international energy infrastructure group with 1,300 employees active in gas transmission & storage and liquefied natural gas terminalling. The GRID department manages Fluxys Belgium’s gas transmission network to ensure a continuous gas supply to end users and to guarantee the safety of the installations, the environment and staff. In practical terms, this involves the inspection, operation and maintenance of the pipeline network and associated installations, as well as the proper management of all work carried out by third parties in the vicinity of our installations. Organisationally, the GRID department is divided into five regional zones spread across the whole of Belgium, supported by two central services (Asset & Maintenance Management and Third Party Works Team) which establish the maintenance programme and working methods and monitor and improve the reliability and availability of our installations through technical analyses and innovative solutions. For the GRID department, North-West zone, we are looking for a Zone Manager (m/f/x). Job purpose You will be responsible for overseeing the North-West Zone and for the operation and maintenance of the pressure-reduction stations and pipelines, in accordance with Fluxys’ safety and quality regulations. You will manage a team of around 35 staff members (patrol officers, technicians, etc.). Your responsibilities The role is based on three priorities: Operational excellence You will oversee the implementation of the annual maintenance plan and monitor its progress using monthly KPIs, aiming for the optimal use of resources (equipment, personnel, financial) to ensure long-term efficiency and adherence to your budget You ensure that your team, in accordance with legal requirements, analyses and monitors all third-party works carried out in the vicinity of and/or on Fluxys’ installations in your zone You will work closely with other departments (Dispatching, Projects, Engineering, HR, Procurement, etc.) to ensure the smooth running of operational tasks Leadership You will coach and assess your staff and ensure they develop/possess the necessary skills to ensure the operation and maintenance of our facilities and to respond appropriately in the event of an emergency or incident You will help to continuously strengthen the safety culture and ensure effective cross-functional communication within the team through specific meetings and site visits You will ensure open communication and constructive dialogue with our local social partners Optimisation & Digitalisation You will actively participate in working groups for various projects: continuous improvement and optimisation of the operation and maintenance of our infrastructure digitalisation of our tools and working methods energy transition, with a particular focus on the development of a hydrogen and CO2 network and ensures practical implementation and the necessary support during the change process About you a Master’s degree in engineering (specialising in electromechanics/electrical engineering, energy or chemistry) at least 5–10 years’ experience in an industrial environment demonstrable experience in team management and the ability to adapt flexibly to change a critical eye and a pragmatic, results-oriented approach good communication skills and the ability to make an impact good stress management skills and the ability to handle multiple urgent/critical situations simultaneously excellent knowledge of Dutch and good knowledge of English and French In addition, this role requires: willingness to work on-call and standby shifts residence within a 30-minute radius of our head office in Bruges or Wetteren Why should you apply?
