Department Overview:
The University of Wisconsin-Madison has deployed a network of weather and soil
monitoring stations (Wisconet) across Wisconsin. Wisconet collects high
frequency weather and soil observations for improved management of agricultural
crops, forests, water, and other natural resources while supporting university
research programs, improved weather and climate monitoring, and the public.
Anticipated Start Date:
October 5, 2026
Anticipated End Date (If Applicable):
May 7, 2027, with the option to work in Fall 2027

Qualifications:

¢ Coursework or interest in science communication, atmospheric science, agronomy, or related fields â€
¢ Attention to detail â€
¢ Willingness to learn and teach about weather and soil instruments and technology Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: â€
¢ Familiarity with multiple social media platforms â€
¢ Written and oral communication skills â€
¢ Experience with or interest in learning video editing and graphic design software Position Summary/Job Duties: â€
¢ Creating high-quality photo and short-form video content â€
¢ Highlighting user stories from both campus partners and external users â€
¢ Designing print and digital promotional materials that showcase Wisconet’s value to agricultural, scientific, and public audiences â€
