Global Description As Paralegal Officer, you will provide generalist legal support to the Legal Team on matters concerning Meliore’s activities globally. Your primary purpose will be to facilitate work of the Legal Team through triage of tasks, performance of a diverse range of compliance and regulatory matters, conducting legal research, and provision of some administrative legal support. You’ll be joining our legal team consisting of a General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel, two Senior Labour Legal Officers, Procurement Lead, and a Senior Legal Officer for Media and Comms. You will report to the Deputy General Counsel. A successful Paralegal Officer will be interested in how charitable organizations law functions across global jurisdictions, has experience in legal research and providing support to attorneys, and will be responsive, organized, and supportive to enable the work of the Legal team. • Support the legal team by:
• Managing the triage of legal tasks and communication with requestors,
• Managing and coordinating the portfolio of service providers of the Legal team, and coordinating with the Procurement Lead new required procurement of the Legal team;
• Maintaining the overview of the Legal budget on behalf of the General Counsel;
• Reviewing, proofreading, preparing and formatting of legal documents;
• Facilitating compliance activities and processing routine legal data, ensuring follow-up on discrepancies to support the delivery of legal services;
• Conducting legal research and preparing summaries, guidelines and presentations based on research findings (topics are broad and include, but are not limited to, areas such as Intellectual Property, Data Protection, Digital Laws, Corporate Compliance, Media Law, and Human Rights);
• Performing other activities and providing support in any other ad hoc legal, regulatory and administrative matters. Our ideal candidate has
• You hold a university degree in Law or equivalent and have 3-5 years of relevant paralegal or legal professional experience;
• You have successfully managed a high volume of information and documentation in a busy environment, previous compliance and legal research experience is an asset;
• You have an understanding or appetite to learn about large pieces of compliance legislations, notably for the EU the GDPR and the AI Act;
• You are organised and have a keen eye for detail;
• You have the ability to work in a team environment;
• You demonstrate a requirement for creative and analytical thinking to resolve issues within established frameworks;
• You act with integrity and discretion;
• You have strong networking skills that enable effective collaboration with a diverse group of stakeholders;
• Fluency in written and spoken English, our working language; additional languages are an asset.

Location:
flexibly remote. Some international travel will be required. We may be able to provide co-working spaces in some locations.
