As a core member of the intelligent arm of One Bite Design Studio, you will transform data into actionable insights for clients, community organisations, and the wider public. You will be a core part of a team that values curiosity, rigour, and experimental storytelling to bring data to life.
About One Bite Design Studio
At One Bite Design Studio, we believe in “Interconnecting People and Making Places”. As Hong Kong's first architectural practice certified as a B Corp™, we are dedicated to creating positive impact through multi-disciplinary design. Headquartered in Hong Kong with a growing presence in London, our community of architects, designers, community outreach managers and event managers, strives to bridge the gaps between space, place and our society. Using a user-centred approach, our works, grounded in architecture, urban, culture and social creatives, are articulated with a touch of human sensitivity. We work as three teams, focusing on different goals – onebite DESIGN as initiator, onebite RESEARCH as detective, onebite SOCIAL as advocates.
About One Bite Research
One Bite Research (OBR) brings together researchers and analysts grounded in architecture and urban studies. The practice specialises in synthesising qualitative fieldwork with quantitative data to uncover community needs, evaluate impact, and establish robust baseline studies. Serving partners across the public, private, and social sectors, OBR also leads two proprietary initiatives: Urban Matters, which translates complex spatial datasets into tangible civic action, and GUTS Journal, an editorial platform dedicated to topical, human-centred urban inquiry.
Responsibilities:
• Data Translation: Analyse quantitative and qualitative data, translating complex information into actionable insights and creative outputs.
• Fieldwork & Engagement: Plan, organise, and implement data collection activities—including street polling, workshops, focus group discussions, and interviews—engaging diverse community members and external partners.
• Marketing Support: Assist in developing marketing plans and promotional materials (e.g., social media posts and reels) to promote ongoing research activities.
• Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work hand-in-hand with our architecture, graphic design, and community engagement teams to ensure a cohesive message across all project phases.
Requirements:
• Education &
Experience:
Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., urban studies) with at least 3 years of experience in urban research or data analysis.
• Tech & Tool Savvy: Proficiency in ArcGIS and other data analytical tools, alongside the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
• Story-Driven Mindset: A deep curiosity for research and narrative. You don’t just put things on walls—you build worlds out of ideas and insights.
• Team Player: Strong collaborative spirit and excellent communication skills. You thrive in a dynamic, open-minded studio environment and are open to co-creating with teammates and communities.
• Languages: Fluency in written and spoken Cantonese and English.
