Lead Business SAP Finance & Controlling

Location:
Brussels, Belgium (Hybrid: 3 days remote, 2 days onsite) Start: January 2027 Duration: 24 months (until December 2028) Rate: €750-€800/day Language: Fluent Dutch or French and professional English Purpose: Lead strategic SAP Finance transformation initiatives within a complex enterprise environment, acting as the bridge between business stakeholders, SAP specialists, architects and executive management. The successful candidate will drive finance transformation, process optimisation and SAP S/4HANA alignment across Finance, Controlling and Revenue Accounting domains. Mission: As the Lead Business SAP Finance & Controlling Expert, you will translate business strategy into transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment between business objectives, enterprise architecture and SAP Finance solutions. You will provide strategic guidance while also supporting business analysis, project delivery, stakeholder management, testing and change management activities.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead SAP Finance and S/4HANA transformation initiatives
• Act as the business lead across Finance, Controlling and Revenue Accounting domains
• Translate business requirements into high-level SAP solution requirements
• Conduct business process analysis, impact assessments and process modelling
• Support target operating model and business architecture development
• Coordinate business stakeholders, SAP experts, architects and delivery teams
• Lead workshops, testing activities, UAT and business acceptance processes
• Drive change management and business adoption initiatives
• Manage complex projects and business-critical support activities
• Provide strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders and management
• Coach and mentor business analysts and project team members
• Identify opportunities for process optimisation and operational efficiencies Core Competencies:

Qualifications:
• Master's degree or equivalent experience
• 10+ years experience as a Business Lead, Transformation Lead or Business Transformation Expert
• 10+ years experience within Finance, Revenue Accounting, General Accounting, IFRS Compliance and Controlling
• 10+ years experience with SAP FI/CO
• 10+ years experience managing business and IT stakeholders
• 10+ years experience leading finance teams and transformation initiatives
• 5+ years experience delivering SAP Finance transformation programmes
• 5+ years project management and change management experience
• Experience with SAP FI-CA (Contract Accounts Receivable & Payable)
• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles
• Experience in highly integrated enterprise SAP environments
• Experience in international railway sales, revenue allocation, settlement or clearing processes is highly desirable
