BES is recruiting for one of its clients, a leading company in the semiconductor and advanced electronics sector, for an exciting R&D and silicon validation project focused on the testing and validation of a newly developed electronic chip after fabrication. As a Hardware Test Engineer, you will play a key role in setting up and validating the complete laboratory environment required to assess the chip’s real-life performance. You will work on PCB-based test benches, electronic measurement equipment, hardware debugging, test automation and data analysis, in close collaboration with internal engineering teams and external test-service providers. This is a highly hands-on hardware role, at the intersection of semiconductor testing, electronics validation and test automation. Your Responsabilities: Set up and bring up chip test benches, including instruments, power supplies, PCBs, fixtures, cabling and data-acquisition systems Debug and optimize the complete laboratory test environment to ensure reliable and repeatable measurements Develop and maintain test automation scripts using Python, MATLAB or similar environments Execute functional and parametric tests according to the validation plan Configure measurement equipment and perform accurate electrical measurements on the chip Collect, process and analyze measurement data to assess chip performance Compare test results with the expected behavior and specifications provided by the design team Identify, investigate and troubleshoot deviations or unexpected behavior Correlate measurement results with design expectations and support technical root-cause analysis Prepare concise and structured test reports, including plots, observations, pass/fail criteria and recommended next steps Coordinate with external test houses regarding test setup requirements, implementation, logistics, data exchange and issue tracking Follow up on test activities, deliverables and schedules with both internal and external stakeholders Communicate test results and technical findings clearly to an international engineering team Contribute to improving test methodologies, automation and laboratory setups.

Your Profile
Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Semiconductor Engineering or a related technical field Experience in IC testing, electronic system testing or hardware validation Hands-on experience with laboratory measurement equipment and electrical measurements Experience working with PCB-based test setups Comfortable spending the majority of your time working in a laboratory environment Strong knowledge of Python, MATLAB or a similar test automation environment – mandatory Good understanding of electronics and structured measurement/data analysis Experience with PMICs, voltage regulators or power-management electronics is a strong plus Pragmatic and hands-on approach to troubleshooting Autonomous and able to take ownership of technical activities Accurate and structured when documenting and reporting test results Comfortable working with both internal technical teams and external test-service providers Able to work effectively in an international environment Dutch is a plus, but not mandatory Good command of English.
