Job Description
As an Automation Engineer, you will join the automation and engineering team of a leading biopharmaceutical manufacturer. You will help keep GMP production processes and utilities running reliably on a Siemens PCS 7 platform, while contributing to the site's modernization and capacity projects. This role combines day-to-day system ownership with project delivery. You will design, program, test, and qualify PCS 7 applications, from functional specifications through to handover to operations, in a strictly regulated environment. We're looking for someone with hands-on PCS 7 expertise, a strong quality mindset, and a collaborative approach to help drive process reliability and compliance. The Role & Responsibilities Reporting to the automation lead and working closely with production, engineering, and quality stakeholders, your responsibilities will include:
• Translating process and user requirements into functional and design specifications
• Developing and modifying PCS 7 applications
• Configuring controllers, remote I/O, and industrial networks
• Preparing and executing FAT, SAT, and commissioning activities
• Supporting qualification and computerized system validation (IQ/OQ)
• Troubleshooting automation issues and providing second-line support to production
• Managing changes, deviations, and CAPAs related to automated systems
• Contributing to system upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle management
• Coordinating with integrators and suppliers on scope, quality, and timelines
• Writing and maintaining technical documentation and procedures
• Training operators and technicians on new or modified functionalities. Skills & Qualifications
• You hold a bachelor's or master's degree in automation, electromechanics, electrical engineering, or a related field
• You have at least 5 years' experience in industrial automation, ideally in a pharmaceutical or other GMP-regulated setting
• You are confirmed working with Siemens PCS 7, including CFC/SFC programming and WinCC visualization
• You are familiar with GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11, and EU GMP Annex 11
• You understand instrumentation, P&IDs, and electrical schematics
• You are fluent in French and have a good working level of English
• Your communication is clear and effective with technical and non-technical stakeholders
