Company Description
Ecopreneur.eu – The European Sustainable Business Federation – unites almost 15 000 SMEs and larger companies across Europe committed to sustainability and often pioneering circular business models. We advocate ambitious EU policies and carry out projects promoting a low-carbon, circular and inclusive economy.
Role Description
Working Student (paid): Communications, Fundraising and Administration (Brussels), 8 hours per week
Are you a student who cares about sustainability and want to see how European policy gets shaped? Are you well organised, at ease approaching people and able to write clear, punchy messages on social media? Then Ecopreneur.eu, the European Sustainable Business Federation, may have the student job you're looking for. We represent sustainability-frontrunner businesses, mostly SMEs, in EU circular economy and sustainability policy. We're a small, international team that gives a working student real responsibility and a direct line to the people making things happen.
The set-up
• One-year working student contract, starting as soon as possible
• 8 hours per week (the equivalent of one day), planned together with us and spread across the week to fit our workflow and your study schedule
• Based in Brussels, preferably working from our office alongside other team members.
What you'll do
Communication
• Turn policy news and advocacy messages into short, compelling content
• Draft messages for social media, our website, and newsflashes
• Help prepare and organise webinars, events and meetings Fundraising
• Support fundraising via philanthropy, EU grants and other funding opportunities
• Help with membership prospecting: researching companies and organisations, drafting outreach, organising calls, sending reminders and following up
• Assist with preparing grant applications and reporting Administration
• Support with day-to-day administration tasks: accounting, expense overviews, meeting planning, taking minutes
• Maintenance of membership records, contacts and shared files What you bring
• You are currently enrolled at a university or college. This is a working student position, so we need proof of enrolment
• You communicate fluently in English, both in writing and in conversations; other EU languages (especially French) are a plus
• You're reliable, structured and good at working independently
• You're comfortable contacting professionals you haven’t met before, by email and phone: persuasive, polite and persistent
• You know your way around with Microsoft 365 and LinkedIn
• You're interested in sustainability, circular economy and / or EU policy; prior experience is a plus, not a requirement.
