Eleven years ago Coconut Matter started at a kitchen table. Today we make our own plastic-free personal care products in Wong Chuk Hang — deodorant, shampoo concentrate, body care, formulated for families and for the climate we actually live in — and ship them to more than 50 countries.
We're moving from performance marketing to brand storytelling: less selling, more showing people why any of this exists. We need someone who can carry that on camera and in the edit.
The role
You own the content end to end — ideas, scripts, filming, editing, captions, publishing. Reporting to our Marketing Manager and working directly with our Founder, you'll turn eleven years of making things by hand into content people actually stop for.
This is a small team. Nobody will chase you for a deadline, and nobody will hand you a brief. In exchange, the work is yours and you'll see its effect within days.
What you'll do
• Make short-form video that earns attention in the first two seconds, not the fifth
• Work with the Founder to tell the story behind the products — why they exist, how they're made, what's actually in them
• Turn real customer stories and reviews into content people trust
• Appear on camera yourself, with warmth and without a script voice
• Own the content calendar and keep it moving without being asked
• Build genuinely for each platform — Reels, TikTok, Shorts and email are different mediums, not one video posted four times
• Read the numbers afterwards and tell us, honestly, what worked and what didn't What we're looking for
• 3+ years making short-form video for a brand, an agency or yourself, with a body of work you can show
• A real command of the hook: you can explain why an opening works, not just feel that it does
• Comfortable and natural on camera
• Strong written English — you'll write captions, scripts and product copy. Cantonese an advantage.
• Fluent in CapCut, Premiere Pro or Final Cut; comfortable in Canva or Photoshop
• Using AI tools in your workflow — ChatGPT, Descript or similar — to work faster, not to think for you
• Able to look at a post that underperformed and say what you'd change, specifically
• You must already be living in Hong Kong and hold the right to work here. We can't sponsor visas or consider applicants relocating.
What we offer
HK$17,000–24,000 per month, depending on skills and portfolio
· 14 days annual leave plus public holidays
· one day a week from home
· MPF, and group medical from your second year
· direct access to the Founder and real ownership of the channel
· two minutes from Wong Chuk Hang MTR To apply Message us
• Your CV
• Links to three short videos you made
• For one of them, four or five sentences: what the objective was, why you built the hook that way, how it performed, and what you'd do differently now The third item is the one we'll read first. Applications without it won't be reviewed.
