Brussels, Belgium 🏢 Work Model: Hybrid – minimum 3 days onsite per week (mandatory) 💼
Experience:
3–7 years of relevant professional experience 🗣️ Languages: French – mandatory | English – required | Dutch – a plus We are looking for an experienced Geodata Engineer to join an established geospatial team and contribute to geospatial data management, spatial analysis and GIS platform development. 🔧
Key Responsibilities
• Design and maintain geospatial ETL workflows using FME.
• Manage and optimise spatial databases using PostgreSQL/PostGIS.
• Perform spatial analysis and translate business needs into actionable insights.
• Use QGIS for geospatial data editing, analysis, visualisation and cartographic production.
• Develop geospatial automation and processing workflows using Python.
• Maintain and enhance interactive mapping platforms, including maps, layers and functionalities.
• Ensure geospatial data quality, troubleshoot operational workflows and maintain technical documentation.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, data analysts and geospatial teams in an Agile environment. ✅ Mandatory Technical Skills
• FME – geospatial ETL, automation and data integration.
• PostgreSQL/PostGIS – spatial databases, spatial SQL and data modelling.
• QGIS – spatial analysis, visualisation and cartography.
• Python – geospatial processing, automation and integration.
• Proven experience with geospatial analysis and operational GIS applications. ⭐ Nice to Have
• WebGIS platforms and OGC services (WMS, WFS, WMTS).
• GDAL, GeoPandas and Shapely.
• Mobility, parking, transportation, infrastructure or smart-city datasets.
• Geospatial dashboards, interactive maps and data governance.
• Public-sector experience. ⚠️ Important Requirements
• Only candidates with 3–7 years of hands-on professional experience will be considered; internships alone are not sufficient.
• Candidates must be available to work onsite in Brussels at least 3 days per week throughout the assignment.
• Concrete project examples demonstrating the use of FME, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, QGIS and Python are required.
• Two confirmed professional references are expected.
