China State Construction Engineering (Hong Kong) Limited (“the Company” or “China State Hong Kong”) started its construction business in Hong Kong in 1979. The Company engages in building construction and civil engineering works. China State Hong Kong is among the largest construction contractors in Hong Kong, and is approved by the Works Bureau, to be on the List of Approved Contractors (Group C) for Public Works in the five major categories of building and civil engineering works, namely, “Buildings”, “Port Works”, “Roads and Drainage”, “Site Formation” and “Waterworks”. Job Duties Take overall charge of contractor’s structural technical supervision & multi-discipline interface coordination for piling, basement, steelwork, reinforced concrete, temporary works, MiC load-bearing frames and modular connection joints. Conduct monthly dedicated structural audit at off-site MiC factory; inspect MiC steel frame dimension, reinforcement layout, welding workmanship, concrete casting & fire protection coating; witness factory tensile test, ultrasonic weld inspection & concrete core test, record structural defects and follow up rectification until full closure. Vet fully coordinated structural drawings, steel shop drawings, split MiC structural modules, temporary support / excavation stabilisation drawings & lifting plans; maintain full tracking log for drawing submissions, structural consultant comments and drawing revisions. Establish approval workflow for structural steel, concrete, precast elements and MiC structural mock-ups; supervise acceptance of full-size structural mock-ups on site and at factory; mass MiC production shall not commence without mock-up approval. Prepare structural method statements, load test plans, temporary works stability calculations and off-site MiC factory structural supervision schedules; compile monthly structural progress reports, geotechnical monitoring data, factory inspection logs and snag lists. Chair structural multi-trade interface meetings, MiC factory steel fabrication technical meetings and sub-contractor coordination meetings; document all action items and track follow-up matters until fully resolved. Arrange supervision of concealed structural works on site and at factory; attend and witness piling tests, steel weld inspection, MiC modular load & watertightness tests; archive full set of test certificates & material mill certificates. Handle structural design variations, temporary support adjustments and MiC modular joint amendments; update coordinated drawing packages, sub-contractor construction guides and factory fabrication drawings accordingly. Oversee compilation of structural as-built drawings, structural sections of O&M manuals and full MiC factory structural completion certificates for filing. Liaise with Registered Structural Consultant, Buildings Department, geotechnical specialist, steel & MiC sub-contractors to resolve all structural technical queries on site and at off-site plant, sign off contractor’s structural supervision documents. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering, Corporate Member of HKIE and Registered Structural Engineer (RSE) in Hong Kong. Minimum 6 years post-registration experience in structural supervision & factory audit on large-scale Hong Kong government / public housing projects; proven experience in full MiC steel modular supervision is a strong advantage. Comprehensive knowledge of Hong Kong structural codes, BD PNAP APP-158 supervision guidance, Annex XXXI MiC factory structural QA standards and geotechnical monitoring requirements. Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit Structural & structural analysis software; capable of drafting bilingual structural technical reports, factory audit records and temporary works calculation documents independently. Fluent Cantonese, competent professional written & spoken English to lead standalone structural technical meetings with overseas MiC factory teams. Holder of Construction Green Safety Card; available for overtime, night structural load tests and regular overseas MiC factory monthly structural audit trips.
