ABOUT AEIRA
Aeira is a global pharmaceutical company focused on bringing innovative medicines to patients with unmet medical needs, and improving the global accessibility and affordability.
Breakthrough science no longer comes from just one place, but access hasn't kept pace. Across much of the world, proven treatments remain out of reach: blocked by price, by regulatory distance, and by the absence of anyone willing to build the bridge.
Aeira is that bridge. We carry breakthrough science — wherever it originates — through the commercial, regulatory and market-access work that turns a molecule into a medicine a patient can actually receive. Everything we do is guided by three principles:
Continuity in healing. Connection through science. Care without borders.
ROLE SUMMARY
We are looking for our first hands-on AI systems builder to design, ship and maintain the internal applications and workflows our teams use every day. You will work side by side with Business Development, Regulatory Affairs, Legal, Finance and HR to understand their work and turn high-value problems into tools people adopt.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
· Own delivery from discovery to daily use: scope the problem with users, prototype quickly, build and deploy the solution, then support and improve it.
· Build practical AI applications, knowledge retrieval and agents that find relevant information, produce traceable answers and automate routine work.
· Connect Microsoft 365, SharePoint and Teams through APIs, data pipelines and permission-aware retrieval. Build simple interfaces and reusable components.
· Protect company information with appropriate permissions, secure data handling and human review where decisions or actions need oversight.
· Own reliability after launch: test AI outputs, run evaluations, monitor performance and costs, troubleshoot failures and maintain recovery procedures.
· Help colleagues adopt what you build. Explain limitations, document systems and improve workflows through feedback and measurable outcomes. WHAT YOU BRING
· Evidence of software you built and shipped for real users, with the ability to explain your own code, design choices and trade-offs.
· Practical coding skills in Python and/or TypeScript or JavaScript, plus experience with APIs, data storage, version control and deployment.
· Hands-on experience with LLM APIs or AI applications, and the judgement to verify results rather than trust confident output.
· Clear working English, plain-language communication and the initiative to take a loosely defined need through to a working system.
· Willingness to learn and build within Microsoft 365. Prior expertise in its tools is useful, but not essential. USEFUL EXTRAS Experience with retrieval systems, agent workflows, automated testing, cloud operations or Microsoft Graph and Power Automate. Biopharma experience is a plus, not a prerequisite. SHOW US WHAT YOU HAVE BUILT Share a project link, GitHub repository or short demo, and briefly explain what you built, who uses it and how you checked that it works. Include an example of an AI error you caught and how you caught it.
