At our Lummen site, SABCA Limburg, we are specialized in the manufacturing of high-tech composite assemblies for aircraft. On the one hand, we produce integrated skins for flaps and stabilizers using two automatic tape-layers and very large autoclaves and of course, our colleagues’ extended know-how. In cooperation with the Engineering office in Brussels, SABCA Limburg is also responsible for the flap track fairings of several aircraft. On the other hand, the Space industry is also present in this plant with the final system integration of Ariane and Vega assemblies. Mission Are you a Manufacturing Engineer who enjoys working close to production and turning technical challenges into concrete improvements? SABCA Limburg is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our CNC machining and assembly department. Together with another Manufacturing Engineer, you will take a close look at the department and its processes. You will analyse existing processes, troubleshoot technical issues and continuously look for ways to improve quality, efficiency and safety. You will work closely with operators, team leaders, Engineering and other departments to ensure that technical solutions are effectively implemented on the shop floor. Your Responsibilities
• Act as a back-up for the Process Owner for trimming and assembly processes and provide technical support in the follow-up of these processes.
• Analyse and assess customer specifications and technical requirements related to trimming and assembly activities and translate them into applicable manufacturing processes.
• Define, technically align and, where necessary, further optimise the manufacturing strategy for trimming and assembly in consultation with the customer.
• Develop, program and verify CNC and CMM programs for trimming activities, with a focus on product quality, process robustness and repeatability.
• Develop, implement and maintain work and recording instructions for trimming and assembly activities.
• Provide technical follow-up and support for trimming and assembly activities during the production of trial parts, including identifying and resolving process and production issues.
• Support trimming and assembly processes during production ramp-up and ensure a controlled transition to serial production.
• Analyse and resolve technical issues during the first production runs of trimming and assembly by applying structured problem-solving methods and root cause analysis.
• Actively support the operational departments to ensure on-time delivery to our customers.
• Analyse existing production processes and identify improvement opportunities, with a focus on quality, efficiency, lead time, cost and safety.
• Introduce, monitor and maintain process controls to improve both quality and cost efficiency.
• Implement and maintain visual management on the shop floor and further develop and optimise 5S practices.
• Assess, evaluate and implement changes to engineering definitions and specification requirements, while keeping the related internal procedures and work instructions up to date.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Engineering and other stakeholders and take responsibility at your level with regard to the EN9100 quality standard and ISO 14001 environmental standard.

Your profile
• You hold a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering or a similar technical field.
• You have several years of experience in manufacturing and engineering.
• Experience with CNC machining and/or assembly departments, or a similar production environment, is a strong asset.
• Knowledge of Lean methodologies such as 5S, Visual Management, Flow and Value Stream Mapping is a plus.
• You work accurately, with a strong focus on quality and results.
• You are fluent in Dutch and English.
• You have knowledge of the EN9100 quality standard and ISO 14001 environmental standard.
