Location:
Guangdong, China (Remote / Field-Based; must be based in or near Guangzhou, Foshan, Dongguan or Jiangmen) Role Overview: Rove Concepts is seeking an experienced and driven Production Manager based in Guangdong, China, with a strong primary focus on hands-on quality control and factory oversight. This person must be able to visit manufacturing partners and suppliers in person across Guangzhou, Foshan, Dongguan and Jiangmen, up to 14 trips per month, to inspect product quality, resolve issues on site, and maintain high manufacturing standards. The role also supports product development, production planning, and supplier relationships. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in furniture manufacturing and quality assurance and thrives in a fast-paced, design-driven environment. This is a dedicated, full-time leadership role: you will lead the China production team and be fully accountable for three core areas: delay management, quality control and claims, and product.

What You'll Do
· Conduct frequent in-person factory and supplier visits across Guangzhou, Foshan, Dongguan and Jiangmen, up to 14 trips per month, to monitor production and verify product quality.
· Lead hands-on quality control across sampling, pre-production, in-line production, and pre-shipment stages; inspect materials, construction, finishes, workmanship, and finished goods.
· Identify defects and recurring quality problems, investigate root causes with suppliers, and drive corrective and preventive actions through to resolution.
· Own the claims process end to end, including intake, investigation, resolution and supplier chargebacks; escalate issues when needed and ensure corrective actions are in place, each with a traceable root cause.
· Develop and maintain quality benchmarks, inspection checklists, reports, and supplier quality performance metrics; ensure consistent adherence to Rove Concepts standards.
· Collaborate with design, procurement, and manufacturing partners on product development, prototypes, sample approvals, material selection, and manufacturing feasibility.
· Provide practical technical feedback to improve product durability, design execution, construction, and cost-effectiveness.
· Lead end-to-end production planning and scheduling to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery of products.
· Own delay management: track every order against committed ship dates, flag risks early, agree recovery plans with suppliers, and keep headquarters informed of any impact.
· Oversee and guide Production Coordinators and other team members to maintain smooth operations and consistent communication across departments.
· Act as the full-time leader of the China production team: assign clear, dedicated ownership for each area, set team KPIs, and escalate only critical blockers to headquarters.
· Manage supplier relationships and negotiate timelines, capacity, and pricing to support company objectives.
· Monitor KPIs including lead times, defect rates, supplier quality performance, and production efficiency; address bottlenecks and supply risks proactively.
· Support new product launches, ensuring readiness across production, materials, quality, and delivery timelines.
· Partner with leadership to improve production processes and supply chain scalability; maintain accurate production data and documentation in ERP and inventory systems.

What You'll Need
· 5+ years of experience in production management, quality control, or product development, preferably in furniture manufacturing or a related industry.
· Proven people-management experience leading a production team, with a track record of improving on-time delivery and reducing defects and claims.
· Strong hands-on expertise in furniture quality inspection, manufacturing methods, materials, finishes, and product construction.
· Proven ability to identify product defects, assess root causes, and work directly with factories to implement effective corrective actions.
· Experience with product sampling, prototypes, product development, and supplier or vendor management.
· Ability and willingness to travel frequently to factories and suppliers in Guangzhou, Foshan, Dongguan and Jiangmen (up to 14 trips per month); candidates based in or near these cities are strongly preferred.
· Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and managing vendor or supplier relationships.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions under pressure.
· Excellent organizational and communication abilities, with a collaborative, solution-oriented mindset; Mandarin proficiency and working English are preferred for supplier and headquarters communication.
· Proficiency in project management tools, ERP systems, and inventory management software.
· A passion for design, craftsmanship, and delivering high-quality products that reflect Rove’s brand values. What We're Offering:
