Procurement Specialist

About the Role
As a US-backed independent distributor specializing in automotive, industrial, and enterprise-level electronics, we are rapidly expanding our global supply chain footprint. We are seeking a high-energy, proactive, and detail-oriented International Sourcing Specialist in Hong Kong. In this role, you will be the gateway to unlocking inventory outside of Mainland China (focusing on Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, and Korea). By leveraging Hong Kong’s unique advantages as a free trade hub with absolute financial flexibility, your primary mission is to track down premium open-market shortage, obsolete, and End-of-Life (EOL) components for our demanding North American OEM/EMS clients. Key Roles & Responsibilities
• Global Supply Channel Scouting: Proactively discover, qualify, and develop new open-market component sources outside of Mainland China (specifically Tier-1 franchised distributors’ dead stock, regional brokers, and OEM/EMS excess in Taiwan, Singapore, and Southeast Asia).
• Fast-Paced Spot Sourcing: Respond with extreme urgency to high-margin component requirements and RFQs passed from our US sales team and Hong Kong sales hub. Identify supply constraints and secure hard-to-find chips on the spot.
• Aggressive Price Negotiation: Conduct daily outreach via phone, email, and digital platforms to negotiate competitive prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules with global suppliers.
• Logistics & Compliance Management: Coordinate closely with international forwarders and our Hong Kong warehouse logistics team. Master trade terms such as Ex-works and FCA to ensure overseas materials are imported cleanly into Hong Kong or drop-shipped to our US headquarters.
• Risk Mitigation & Counterfeit Prevention: Perform initial vendor screening and risk assessment. Ensure all international purchases meet our strict quality protocols, steering clear of high-risk sources. Job Requirements & Qualifications
• Industry

Experience:
1–3 years of hands-on sourcing or buying experience within electronic components distribution, open-market brokers, or semiconductor supply chain sectors.
• Sourcing Platform Proficiency: Highly internet-savvy and proficient with global digital trading platforms, including NetComponents, Broker Forum, and other international stock-matching tools.
• Commodity Knowledge: Solid fundamental understanding of major active component manufacturers (TI, ADI, NXP, ST, Infineon, Intel, AMD, etc.) and basic familiarity with reading part-number datasheets.
• Language Proficiency: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Mandarin (Putonghua) are mandatory to smoothly bridge international suppliers, US headquarters, and the South China procurement team.
• Core Personality: Fast learner, highly resilient under tight lead times, possess a strong sense of urgency, and capable of working productively in a high-transaction-volume environment.
