Our client is looking for a senior consultant to support a strategic IT sourcing initiative and help turn IT efficiency opportunities into measurable savings. This is a hands-on assignment for someone who combines deep sourcing expertise with strong financial discipline and the confidence to work closely with IT leadership, Finance, Procurement and external partners. Responsibilities You will take ownership of key workstreams across the sourcing and efficiency agenda, ensuring they are structured, evidence-based and ready for executive decision-making.
• Support the preparation and execution of a multi-tower strategic RFP, including sourcing strategy, scope definition, service model, operating model and commercial approach.
• Build and consolidate the RFP dossier, covering requirements, service levels, KPIs, baseline volumes and costs, pricing templates, transition and exit requirements, and contractual input.
• Coordinate contributions from IT domain leads, architecture, security, Finance, Legal and Procurement, and keep the RFP plan and timeline under control.
• Design and run the evaluation process, including scoring criteria, weighting, supplier Q&A, clarification sessions, TCO comparison and business case assessment.
• Prepare recommendation materials, negotiation input and decision packs for executive governance.
• Identify and manage sourcing risks related to continuity, transition, supplier dependency and financial exposure.
• Contribute to the IT efficiency exercise by structuring savings levers such as supplier and contract rationalisation, licence optimisation, demand management, application and infrastructure rationalisation, and sourcing strategy.
• Work with Finance to establish a credible IT cost baseline and quantify savings per lever, including assumptions, ownership and timing.
• Translate efficiency ideas into an actionable plan with milestones, KPIs and accountable owners, aligned with the budget and RFP outcomes.
• Track realised savings against targets and report progress, deviations and corrective actions to senior stakeholders.
• Act as the day-to-day driver for the sourcing and efficiency workstream, translating complex analysis into clear options and recommendations. Technical Skills
• Strong knowledge of IT service towers such as application development and maintenance, infrastructure and cloud, workplace and service desk.
• Solid understanding of related commercial and pricing models.
• Strong financial and analytical capability, including cost baselining, total cost of ownership, business case development and savings tracking.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Knowledge of contract structures, SLAs, governance models, transition management and exit management. Profile
• 10+ years of experience in IT sourcing, IT strategy, IT cost optimisation or IT vendor management, either in a large organisation or within consulting.
• Proven experience leading or contributing significantly to large, multi-tower IT outsourcing or strategic partner RFPs from strategy through selection and negotiation.
• Demonstrated success in IT cost-reduction or efficiency programmes with measurable results.
• Master’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Certifications in sourcing, procurement or IT financial management are considered an advantage, such as CIPS, IAOP COP, FinOps or ITIL.
• Experience in logistics, postal, transport or e-commerce is preferred.
• Experience with global capability centres or offshore delivery models, ideally in India, is preferred.
• Experience in a multi-entity group environment with a central digital or IT function is preferred.
• Senior presence with the ability to challenge and influence IT, Finance, business stakeholders and suppliers.
• Structured, results-driven and hands-on approach, with the ability to deliver under tight timelines.
• Strong negotiation, facilitation and executive communication skills.
• High integrity and discretion when handling confidential commercial information. Practical Information
