Belgium | Senior | Industrial Safety Engineering | EPCM Projects
As a Safety engineer at Group IPS, you'll perform risk analyses, safety studies and technical assessments covering areas such as ATEX, HAZOP, SIL, fire safety, machine safety, environmental safety and Seveso.
You'll combine technical safety expertise with direct customer interaction, site visits and project collaboration, helping define practical solutions that meet both project requirements and Belgian safety legislation.
What you'll do
As Senior Safety Engineer, you will:
• Perform risk analyses, safety studies and specialized safety assessments.
• Prepare technical safety reports and meeting reports.
• Conduct site visits and support clients on safety-related project requirements.
• Anticipate and define customer and project safety needs.
• Assess compliance with relevant Belgian HSE and industrial safety legislation.
• Work with multidisciplinary engineering and project teams.
• Provide safety expertise across different industrial projects and environments. Depending on the project and your expertise, your work can include:
• Fire prevention and protection, including conformity with Belgian legislation.
• ATEX.
• HAZOP.
• SIL.
• Machine Safety Certification, including complex machinery.
• Process and building-related safety.
• Environmental Safety.
• Seveso, including LOPA and SIL.
• PED. What you'll bring Essential
• Around 10 years of experience in safety-related roles, including experience performing different types of risk analyses.
• Prevention Advisor Level 2 or Level 3 certification.
• Experience with or knowledge of Belgian HSE legislation, particularly within industrial projects.
• Master’s degree in safety and environmental management or a comparable safety-related qualification, or proven relevant experience.
• Competence in several industrial safety engineering disciplines.
• Professional working proficiency in Dutch and English.
• Strong customer orientation and the ability to understand and anticipate project needs. Technical expertise You bring experience in at least some of the following areas:
• ATEX
• Building-related safety
• Process safety
• Machine Safety Certification
• Environmental Safety
• HAZOP / SIL
• Fire safety
• Seveso / LOPA
• PED Nice to have
• Good working proficiency in French.
