Jimmy’s Kitchen is seeking an organised, guest-focused Assistant Reception Manager to support the smooth day-to-day operation of our high-volume restaurant reception and reservations function. The successful candidate will lead by example in delivering warm, efficient and polished guest service, while coordinating closely with restaurant operations, events and marketing teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the Reception Manager in overseeing daily front-of-house reception, reservations, seating plans and guest-flow operations
• Ensure every guest receives a professional, warm and timely welcome, from reservation enquiry through to departure
• Manage table allocation and waitlists effectively during high-volume service periods, balancing guest preferences with operational requirements
• Handle telephone, email, online and third-party platform reservations, enquiries, amendments and cancellations accurately
• Operate the POS system confidently and ensure reservation, guest-profile is correctly maintained
• Monitor and manage third-party reservation and dining platforms, responding promptly to bookings, guest requests and relevant feedback
• Maintain backend inventory records for reception-related materials, menus, stationery and guest collateral as required
• Support the coordination of private events, group bookings and special occasions, including guest communication, menu confirmation, operational handovers and event-day execution
• Work closely with the Marketing team to ensure menus, promotional materials and guest communications are accurate and up to date across both printed and online channels
• Assist with menu updates, proofreading, pricing checks and coordination of online menu uploads across relevant platforms
• Maintain accurate guest notes and preferences to support personalised service and effective guest-relation management
• Resolve guest concerns professionally and promptly, escalating matters where necessary
• Train, coach and supervise reception team members, ensuring consistent standards in grooming, communication and service
• Prepare daily reservation reports, guest lists and relevant operational updates for the management team
• Ensure the reception area remains organised, welcoming and aligned with Jimmy’s Kitchen brand standards Requirements
• Minimum 2 years’ relevant working experience in a large-scale Western restaurant or high-volume dining outlet
• Experience in hotel restaurants or fine-dining establishments is preferred
• Strong knowledge of POS systems, reservation platforms, third-party dining platforms and backend inventory reservations processes
• Experience coordinating group bookings, private events or restaurant functions is an advantage
• Excellent guest-service mindset, communication skills and attention to detail
• Able to remain calm, organised and solutions-focused in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Strong leadership potential and ability to guide and motivate a reception team
• Fluent spoken and written English is essential
• Cantonese speaking is preferred; Mandarin speaking will be an added advantage
• Flexible to work weekends and public holidays as required by restaurant operations
