His signature use of print, texture, colour, and silhouette continues to define a style that exists beyond seasonal trends. Today, Dries Van Noten collections are available in stores across Europe, the United States, and Asia, as well as through a global network of wholesale partners, and online. The brand has recently expanded into beauty and fragrance, complementing its ready-to-wear and accessories collections. In December 2024, Julian Klausner was appointed Creative Director. Having worked closely with Dries since 2018, his deep understanding of the house’s identity ensures continuity while opening a new chapter for its future. Mission We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Technical Patternmaker responsible for translating collection patterns into accurate, production-ready patterns and technical packages. This role ensures that garments are developed with precision, consistency, and industrial feasibility, supporting smooth handover to manufacturers and guaranteeing quality, fit, and reproducibility at scale. Responsibilities
• Demonstrate strong technical expertise and accuracy in pattern drawing, cutting, development and fitting across all ready-to-wear categories for men and women..
• Translate existing patterns into production-ready patterns using both manual techniques and CAD software, including Lectra.
• Ensure all patterns are optimised for industrial production, efficiency, and consistency.
• Develop and refine base patterns and blocks for scalable use across collections.
• Create the technical sheet, material sheet, digital sheet, printed sheet and an explanatory sample for the manufacturer.
• Create and finalise complete technical files for production, including:
• Technical sheets created in Excel and documented with additional instructions prepared in a graphic design program such as Illustrator.
• Measurement charts and size specifications
• Materials and construction notes with detailed explanations from finishings
• Digital and printed pattern files
• Check and finalise technical data sheets, including size charts and material data sheets for ateliers and production.
• Actively participate in fitting sessions and translate adjustments and updates into patterns and technical specifications.
• Evaluate the technical execution and quality of the collection and production, providing feedback to the Production Manager or manufacturers.
• Create mock-ups to define and communicate stitching techniques and construction details.
• Provide input to manufacturers on grading and review their proposed size gradations.
• Launch and evaluate pre-production samples (PPS) and size sets where necessary.
• Adhere to the critical path and support the development of the collection, ensuring on-time delivery at every stage. The tasks above are not conclusive and may change according to the needs of the company. A flexible approach towards tasks and responsibilities is always needed. Profile
• Minimum 5 years of experience in fashion industry
• Excellent knowledge of garment fitting and patternmaking
• Excellent knowledge of garment construction, finishings, fabrics and materials
• Knowledge of Excel and Lectra
• Graphic and technical design skills, including Illustrator, Photoshop and CAD
• Motivated team player and communicative
• Flexible and stress resistant, ability to work to a deadline
• Detail-oriented and precise
• Strong problem-solving skills
