Mechanical Component Engineer

As part of our Nuclear activities, we are looking for a Component Engineer to support the long-term operation, reliability and performance of critical mechanical equipment within nuclear power generation facilities. Working closely with maintenance teams, technical experts and operational stakeholders, you will act as the technical owner of a portfolio of components, ensuring their reliability, maintainability and long-term compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. You will contribute to the definition of maintenance strategies, equipment lifecycle management and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at maximizing plant availability, operational performance and nuclear safety. ABOUT THE POSITION:
• Develop and maintain technical expertise for a portfolio of critical mechanical components and equipment.
• Define, review and continuously improve maintenance strategies based on operational feedback, ageing management and equipment performance monitoring.
• Manage the lifecycle of preventive maintenance programs and ensure regulatory requirements are properly integrated into maintenance plans and procedures.
• Support the optimization of maintenance plans to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
• Monitor component health through performance indicators, scorecards and reliability analyses.
• Identify, anticipate and resolve ageing-related degradation mechanisms affecting equipment performance.
• Contribute to obsolescence management by identifying risks, assessing technical solutions and supporting replacement strategies.
• Perform root cause analyses on equipment failures and define corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Support major operational and maintenance programs related to plant availability and long-term operation.
• Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting support to maintenance and operational teams.
• Prepare technical reports, event analyses and lessons-learned documentation.
• Justify and defend technical recommendations and engineering decisions towards internal stakeholders.
• Contribute to reliability improvement and continuous performance optimization initiatives. ABOUT YOU:
• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanics, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering or equivalent through experience.
• 5+ years of experience in reliability engineering, maintenance engineering, ageing management or equipment lifecycle management.
• Strong understanding of preventive maintenance strategies and equipment performance monitoring.
• Experience performing root cause analyses and developing corrective action plans.
• Knowledge of rotating equipment, static equipment, valves, pumps or other mechanical systems is considered a strong asset.
• Previous experience within the nuclear industry is considered a strong asset.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to investigate complex technical problems in depth.
• Ability to develop transversal processes and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
• Good command of English.
• Fluency in French and a good command of English is mandatory
