Job Type
Hybrid – 50% Onsite + 50% Teleworking in Belgium. Roles &
Requirements:
• Language: Good knowledge of English is required; Dutch and/or French is a strong plus, with German considered an advantage.
•
Education:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
•
Experience:
Minimum 6 years of professional software development experience, including at least 3 years of hands-on Python development.
• Strong proficiency in Python backend development, preferably using FastAPI or similar frameworks.
• Good experience with Pydantic, AsyncIO, and developing reliable, scalable backend services.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and experience working with databases such as MSSQL and PostgreSQL.
• Experience with RabbitMQ and a good understanding of event-driven and service-based architectures.
• Solid understanding of software design patterns, data structures, algorithms, scalability, and maintainable code design.
• Experience implementing automated testing, with knowledge of testing frameworks such as Selenium.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD practices, software quality, deployment processes, and development best practices.
• Experience troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving complex technical issues in production environments.
• Good understanding of IT security requirements, ideally within critical infrastructure or other highly regulated environments.
• Experience working with legacy codebases and participating in refactoring and modernization initiatives.
• Experience with Docker and containerized environments is a plus.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure and NoSQL technologies is a plus.
• Ability to collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Data Engineers, Architects, IT Operations, and other development teams.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to understand requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
• Ability to conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and provide technical guidance.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a focus on building secure, scalable, reliable, and maintainable solutions.
• Experience working on monitoring, alerting, application health, or operational platforms is highly relevant.
