As Deposition Team Leader in our Engineering department, you are in the first place a specialist for this technology. You will coach a team of engineers, technicians and its partners in device manufacturing that are responsible for the hardware and process aspects of a number of pilot production machines.
What you will do
As a Team Leader you are responsible for the daily management of a team of ca. 10 people. The deposition teams support the cutting-edge scientific research that imec is famous for by being responsible for the maintenance and repairs of all deposition tools in both our 200mm and 300mm cleanrooms, and developing and managing the processes within them. It is expected that the deposition teams will continue to grow significantly in the coming years to support the ongoing expansion of imec’s state-of-the-art 300mm cleanroom.
The deposition Team Leader:
Is responsible for the safety and well-being of everyone who reports to him or her and makes sure he/she receives the necessary training
Is responsible for the day-to-day and long-term management of the deposition team by ensuring there is sufficient and balanced engineering coverage and experience across all shifts, tools and disciplines
Works intensively with the different tool suppliers
Is responsible for driving cycle-time and quality improvements, and meeting the team’s KPIs
Is responsible for the budget of the team
Actively participates to the team that makes sure we have the correct processes (capability and capacity) to guarantee Imec’s long term thin film strategy
Works in dayshift, and up to 8 weekends per year as the FAB Engineering management representative

Who you are You have obtained a Master in Science or in Engineering or equal to this by experience, and you display strong leadership skills and mindset You have a strong experience in deposition techniques (ALD, CVD, EPI or PVD), preferrable in a semiconductor production environment You have good leadership and communication skills You are highly driven with a focus on delivering high quality results on-time, and meeting your team’s KPIs You are a motivator who can create and maintain a proactive ‘can do’ attitude within the team You are able to identify the relative strengths and weaknesses of those reporting to you, and to use that to help them achieve their full potential You lead by example, by behaving professionally and respectfully at all times You give clear and concise instructions and constructive feedback to those who report to you You are courteous and respectful in your communication with our internal and external partners, and actively try to find innovative and creative solutions You are comfortable working in a multi-cultural and multi-national environment You are able to balance the best interests of your team with those of the department and imec as a whole Given the international character of imec, you are fluent in both verbal and written English.
