China State Construction Engineering (Hong Kong) Limited (“the Company” or “China State Hong Kong”) started its construction business in Hong Kong in 1979. The Company engages in building construction and civil engineering works. China State Hong Kong is among the largest construction contractors in Hong Kong, and is approved by the Works Bureau, to be on the List of Approved Contractors (Group C) for Public Works in the five major categories of building and civil engineering works, namely, “Buildings”, “Port Works”, “Roads and Drainage”, “Site Formation” and “Waterworks”. Responsibilities
• Drafting and reviewing commercial terms pertaining to the department’s business operations, ensuring that such terms are in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and construction industry standards.
• Managing commercial risks and resolving contractual disputes arising from departmental operations. Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree or above in Law, Surveying, Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably with experience in construction contract management.
• Familiarity with mainstream construction standard forms of contract in Hong Kong, such as HKIA/HKIS Standard Forms, NEC4, etc.
• Practical knowledge of bonds/guarantees, insurance and dispute resolution.
• Understanding of Hong Kong construction-related legislation, including the SoP Ordinance, the Arbitration Ordinance & Competition Ordinance.
• Good command of written and spoken Chinese and English.
• Strong analytical skills, negotiation skills and cross-departmental communication skills.
• HKIS, RICS or other relevant professional qualifications would be an advantage.
