Finance & HR ManagerCPE Group | based in Mons, with regular travel to our offices in Belgium and Luxembourg CPE Group is an independent broker in consumer credit, mortgage lending and insurance. Since 1996 we have been helping private individuals and businesses to finance their plans, and today more than 40 colleagues serve our clients from 10 offices across Wallonia and Luxembourg. Finday is the brand many of our clients know us by, and one of several brands within CPE Group. That is why you will come across this vacancy on more than one of our pages: the role itself sits at group level, which means you work across all our brands, entities and offices — Finday included. We are not standing still. We intend to keep growing — organically, through acquisitions, and by opening up new regions. That ambition is exactly why we are creating this role. To support that growth, we are looking for a Finance & HR Manager. This is not a back-office role. You take care of our financial follow-up and our people processes, you think along with management, and you are just as happy to roll up your sleeves and get things done yourself. You are in direct, day-to-day contact with our CEO and COO, you work closely with our office and domain managers, and where relevant you are invited to the board of directors to present and discuss specific topics. What you will doFinance
• You own the financial steering of the group: monthly and quarterly closings together with our accountants, consolidation across our Belgian and Luxembourg entities, and reporting that gives management and the board a clear view of what is actually going on.
• You build the budget, the forecasts and the cash flow planning, you challenge them with the office and domain managers, and you hold the group to them through the year.
• You dig into profitability per office, per product and per partner, and you come back with proposals rather than observations: where margin is leaking, which costs are out of line, which products deserve more push.
• You design and build our management dashboards and KPIs — largely from scratch — and, just as importantly, you get the office managers using them in how they run their business.
• You take ownership of cost control, supplier contracts and internal financial controls, and you fix what does not work instead of reporting on it.
• You are the point of contact for our accountants, auditors, banks and financial partners. Business support and improvement
• Together with the CEO and COO, you think along on the direction of the group and provide the figures and analyses behind the choices: which regions, products, channels and partnerships are worth going after.
• You build the business cases behind those decisions — opening an office in a new region, launching a product line, entering a new market — and you help put them into practice once a decision has been made.
• You spot opportunities for business development — new partnerships, new distribution channels, new client segments — and bring them to the table with a well-founded case.
• You bring structure where a fast-growing group needs it: clear processes, clear procedures, clear ownership.
• You digitalise and automate wherever it makes sense, and you use AI actively and inventively — in your own work, in our processes, and by showing colleagues how to do the same. Mergers, acquisitions and integration
• You support our acquisition projects: gathering and analysing the financial data, building the models, and preparing the files that underpin the decision.
• Once a deal is signed, you play an active, hands-on role in the integration: aligning reporting, processes, systems and terms of employment, so that a newly acquired business genuinely becomes part of CPE.
• You help assess new regions and new targets with a well-founded business case. HR and organisation
• You coordinate payroll with our social secretariat and make sure personnel administration, contracts and employee files are accurate and up to date, for both our Belgian and Luxembourg colleagues.
• You support our managers in recruitment: defining the need, writing and placing vacancies, screening candidates and taking part in interviews.
• You build a proper onboarding process so that every new colleague, whether they join us directly or through an acquisition, gets off to a good start.
• You keep track of training needs and of the regulatory requirements that apply to our people, including FSMA obligations, and you plan the necessary training in good time.
• You shape our HR policy: evaluation and feedback cycles, remuneration, career paths and retention.
• You handle the more delicate files as well, from a difficult employment situation to a legal dispute, with care, discretion and respect for the people involved, working with our external advisors. What we are looking for
• A master's degree in economics, finance, business administration, law or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience. A background in a Big4 or consulting environment (audit, transaction services, advisory) is the profile we have in mind, but we are equally open to someone who built comparable experience in finance and/or HR within a company.
• You are strong analytically and comfortable with figures, models and reporting — and you use them to reach a conclusion and act on it, not to produce a document.
• Structure matters to you. You are organised, precise and reliable in follow-up, and you naturally bring order to situations that lack it.
• You are proactive. You see what needs to happen, raise it with the right people and get started.
• Empathy is at the heart of how you work. You listen genuinely, you sense what is going on with people, and colleagues at every level find you approachable and trustworthy — also in difficult conversations.
• You enjoy thinking along, but you are just as happy to execute. You are not afraid to get your feet in the mud: in a group of our size, doing the work yourself is part of the job, and you like it that way.
• You enjoy a challenge and are not thrown off by an environment that changes quickly, including the demands that come with integrating newly acquired businesses.
• You work confidently and inventively with AI tools and already use them in your day-to-day work.
• Strong communication skills. You move easily between a conversation with a colleague in one of our offices and a discussion with management or the board.
• You have a good command of French, Dutch and English. Any additional language is a genuine asset in a group active in Belgium and Luxembourg.
• You are based in or near Mons, or willing to be, and you are happy to visit our other offices regularly. Driving licence B is required.
• Experience in credit, insurance or financial services is a plus, not a requirement.

What we offer
• A broad role with real substance, combining finance, HR and business support, in which you see and influence the whole of the business rather than one corner of it.
• Direct, day-to-day contact with our CEO and COO, short decision lines, and the opportunity to present and discuss topics at the board of directors.
• Room to grow. The role is designed to expand as the group expands, and you grow along with it.
• The freedom to organise your own work, set up your own processes and choose your own tools.
• A company that has been solidly established since 1996 and is now in an ambitious growth phase — the stability of the former with the energy of the latter.
• A competitive salary package with extra-legal benefits, supplemented by a company car. Interested?Does this sound like the challenge you are looking for? We would like to hear from you. Send us your CV and a short note about yourself, and we will get in touch quickly.
