Data & Business Analyst – Medior / Senior

About the Role
We are seeking a Data & Business Analyst to contribute to projects involving complex data environments and business-critical information. The successful candidate will combine a strong technical background with a good understanding of financial services, particularly credit and risk-related activities. Working at the intersection of business and IT, you will help stakeholders understand data requirements, investigate complex data flows and support the delivery of reliable data solutions. You will be expected to work autonomously on defined topics while maintaining close contact with business users and technical teams.

Key Responsibilities
• Examine business processes and data structures to identify requirements, dependencies and potential improvements.
• Develop and analyse complex SQL queries to extract, reconcile and investigate information across extensive relational databases.
• Investigate data discrepancies and contribute to the resolution of issues affecting data quality and consistency.
• Collaborate with engineers and business stakeholders to translate functional needs into clear technical specifications.
• Contribute to the monitoring and understanding of data pipelines, including data extraction, transformation and loading activities.
• Work with historical datasets covering long periods and substantial volumes of information.
• Understand the mechanisms behind scheduled jobs, batch executions and the sequencing of data-processing activities.
• Coordinate smaller assignments independently, ensuring alignment between stakeholders and effective progress throughout the delivery process.
• Facilitate discussions between business and technical teams to ensure a shared understanding of requirements and proposed solutions. Required Profile
• Several years of relevant experience in data analysis, business analysis or a similar function, corresponding to a medior or senior level.
• Previous experience in financial services, with a sound understanding of banking operations and concepts related to credit and risk management.
• Advanced SQL capabilities, including the ability to navigate complex data models containing more than 150 tables.
• Practical experience with Oracle-based database environments.
• Knowledge of data integration processes, including ETL mechanisms and the management of historical data.
• Familiarity with large-scale data environments where information must remain accessible and traceable over extended periods, potentially up to 15 years.
• Understanding of scheduled processing, batch jobs and associated dependencies.
• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with technical specialists and business stakeholders.
• A self-starting mindset, with the ability to take ownership of smaller initiatives and move them forward without constant supervision. Additional Assets Experience with the following technologies would be beneficial but is not essential:
• Informatica for data integration and ETL.
• SAP BusinessObjects for reporting and data analysis.
• SAP IQ for analytical data storage and processing. Personal Attributes The ideal candidate is curious, analytical and comfortable operating in a complex technical environment. Beyond technical expertise, they should be confident in engaging with different stakeholders, asking the right questions and turning complex information into clear, actionable outcomes. A strong preference will be given to candidates who communicate naturally, build relationships easily and actively contribute to discussions rather than limiting themselves to purely technical execution.
