Our client is looking for an experienced and versatile Senior JavaScript Developer to strengthen a multidisciplinary digital team working on scalable cloud-based services and user-focused applications. The role combines frontend and backend development, with a strong emphasis on modern Vue 3/Nuxt interfaces, robust Node.js services, REST API integration, and consistent quality within a microservices architecture. Responsibilities In this role, you will contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of high-performing digital services while helping ensure technical quality, security, and seamless integration across the wider architecture. Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud-based applications and services. Develop accessible and intuitive frontend solutions using Vue 3 and Nuxt. Work on backend services with Node.js and support REST API integration. Contribute to a consistent user experience aligned with a common design system. Safeguard technical standards, code quality, and secure integration within the architecture. Collaborate closely with the program architect and the wider team to improve processes and ways of working. Take ownership of one or more software applications and help guide other developers when needed. Technical Skills Strong experience with JavaScript development across frontend and backend. Hands-on experience with Vue.js, Nuxt, and Node.js. Solid knowledge of REST API design and integration. Good understanding of HTML5 and CSS3. Experience with NestJS is a plus. Experience with modular frontend development is required. Ability to code, test, and debug efficiently. Profile We are looking for a senior professional who combines technical depth with leadership qualities and strong collaboration skills. You should be able to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary environment. Proven experience in developing JavaScript-based applications. Experience leading a development team and coaching developers. Strong experience working with Agile methodologies and Scrum. Ability to take a leading role within an Agile team. Experience working on software ownership and driving improvements over time. Analytical, efficient, communicative, and comfortable working both independently and in a team. Practical Information The assignment will mainly be based in Ghent. This is a long-term consulting opportunity. Language requirement: fluent Dutch at CEFR level C2. The consultant works with a personal laptop and virtual access to the client environments. An NDA document must be signed and uploaded.
