Zenith Advisors is a Puerto Rico, based professional services firm supporting individuals, families, and businesses with accounting, payroll, tax compliance, and advisory services. Our work often involves coordinating requirements across Puerto Rico and the United States, so our team brings together technical knowledge, careful execution, and thoughtful client service.
Accounting and Tax Internship Program
This program is designed to give interns a broad, supervised view of the work behind our services. Interns will gain exposure to accounting, payroll, tax compliance, and advisory engagements, while learning how these areas connect to support clients and their financial responsibilities.
Throughout the program, interns will work alongside experienced professionals, take part in client engagements, and build the technical and communication skills needed to grow in the accounting profession. Work will be assigned according to each intern’s experience and reviewed by a supervisor.
Program Experience
• Accounting and Bookkeeping
- Interns will learn how financial information is organized and maintained. Activities may include assisting with transaction categorization, reconciliations, supporting schedules, and the preparation of financial reports.
• Payroll-Interns will gain exposure to payroll processes and related compliance responsibilities. This may include organizing payroll information, assisting with payroll calculations and filings, and learning about employer reporting requirements.
• Tax Compliance
- Interns will support the preparation and review process for federal and Puerto Rico tax filings. They may help organize client documents, prepare workpapers, research tax questions, and assist with individual and business returns under supervision.
• Advisory Services
- Interns will observe how accounting and tax information informs client decisions. Depending on the engagement, they may assist with financial analysis, tax planning research, projections, and the preparation of materials for client discussions.
• Client Service and Professional Development
- Across all service areas, interns will practice clear communication, organization, confidentiality, attention to detail, and professional judgment. They will also learn how client requests, deadlines, documentation, and review procedures are managed throughout an engagement. Learning Goals By the end of the program, interns should have:
• A practical understanding of accounting, payroll, tax compliance, and advisory work.
• Experience organizing financial and tax information into clear, reviewable workpapers.
• Greater familiarity with federal and Puerto Rico compliance processes.
• Stronger research, communication, time-management, and problem solving skills.
• A broader understanding of how professional teams serve clients across multiple areas. The program is designed as a learning experience. Interns will receive guidance and feedback throughout the nine months, with opportunities to take on more responsibility as their skills develop. Who Should Apply This internship is intended for college students pursuing an accounting degree who are currently in their third or fourth year of study.
