Partnerships & Funding Lead
NextGen Governance Lab (NGGL) is a youth-led think-and-do tank on global governance, born in International Geneva from first-hand experience of the multilateral system.
Through a series of programmes built on research, action and advocacy, NGGL works across six areas: democracy, the future of multilateralism, peace and security, human rights, gender equality and AI governance. Its work moves in two directions: bringing young people closer to the institutions that shape their lives, to rebuild trust, prevent radicalisation and strengthen democracy; and giving young people a real role in the decisions that define their future.
The role
As Partnerships & Funding Lead, you will work directly with NGGL’s Director to build the relationships and resources that sustain and expand our work.
• Map NGGL’s ecosystem across Brussels, International Geneva and beyond: international organisations, think tanks, foundations, universities and youth networks working in our areas.
• Identify funding opportunities from foundations, EU programmes and international institutions, and help prepare proposals and applications.
• Represent NGGL at events and forums, online and in person, and connect with people and organisations to build new partnerships.
• Build and maintain relationships with potential partners, from first contact to joint initiatives.
• Keep a clear pipeline of partners and opportunities, with priorities, next steps and deadlines.
• Contribute to NGGL’s partnership and funding strategy. Your ideas are genuinely welcome and can shape how NGGL grows. What you gain
• Hands-on experience in partnerships and resource mobilisation, a skill highly valued across the international and non-profit sector.
• Direct contact with international organisations, foundations, institutions and decision-makers, in the context of Brussels, International Geneva and the multilateral system.
• Opportunities to represent NGGL at events and meetings, online and in Brussels.
• Visibility through NGGL’s channels and the events you take part in.
• Real responsibility, a certificate and a letter of recommendation. Who we are looking for
• Studying or recently graduated in international relations, political science, economics, business, law or a related field. Other backgrounds are welcome if you can show genuine interest and a good fit for the role.
• Committed and reliable, with a strong sense of ownership and initiative.
• Highly organised, proactive and a strong communicator in English, comfortable writing proposals and reaching out to new contacts.
• Excellent at building and maintaining relationships.
• Genuinely interested in international affairs and cooperation.
• Based in Brussels or surrounding areas Details
• 15 to 20 hours a week, flexible and remote.
• 6 months.
• Working language: English. French is an asset. This is a volunteer, unpaid position. University students who need academic credit can also complete it as an internship, through an agreement with their university. You can also ask questions or apply via jobs@nggl.org (sending your cv and motivation)
