HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BE UP TO
You’ll report directly to the Group Head of Accounting and take responsibility for the accounting of several companies within the WDP Group. You’ll work closely with accountants, controllers and colleagues in other departments.
Your role has three main areas:
1. Operational accounting and quality assurance
• Ensuring that the accounting records for your entities are accurate, complete and up to date, and supporting accountants in their day-to-day work.
• Taking ownership of the accounting for several companies and staying hands-on to help resolve complex accounting matters.
• Overseeing compliance with tax, statutory and other legal obligations, consulting internal or external specialists where needed.
• Overseeing balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, properly supported accounting entries and audit-ready documentation. 2. Closing reporting and compliance
• Playing an active coordinating role in month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing, ensuring that Group deadlines are met.
• Working closely with the controller on accurate reporting, variance analysis, budgeting and forecasting.
• Taking overall responsibility for the preparation and audit of statutory annual accounts, and acting as the technical point of contact for internal and external accountants and statutory auditors.
• Ensuring that transactions such as acquisitions, disposals and capital increases are correctly accounted for and documented. 3. Digitalisation automation and process improvement
• Helping make processes more efficient using a wide range of digital tools, including SAP S/4HANA, Excel, Copilot, SharePoint, Teams and Power BI.
• Identifying and implementing opportunities to automate accounting processes, such as reconciliations, reporting and e‑invoicing.
• Leading accounting and IT projects, translating requirements into a clear action plan and overseeing scope, progress, testing, documentation and deadlines.
• Embedding improvements through clear processes, work instructions, controls and knowledge sharing across entities and countries. HERE'S
YOUR PROFILE
• You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accountancy, Finance or an economics-related field, backed by substantial relevant experience in accounting. Experience within an international group is a strong advantage.
• You have a solid understanding of statutory accounting and period-end closing processes.
• You combine analytical insight and accuracy with a pragmatic approach focused on finding solutions.
• You have strong digital skills and a demonstrable interest in process optimisation and automation. Experience with SAP S/4HANA, Excel and reporting tools is a plus.
• You communicate fluently in Dutch, French and English.
