Role Description The Maestra Toddler is a full-time, on-site role located in San Juan, responsible for guiding and caring for toddlers in a classroom setting. Daily tasks include planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities, supervising play and learning, and supporting children in building language, motor, social, and self-help skills. The role involves maintaining a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment, monitoring children’s behavior and progress, and communicating regularly with families about their child’s day and development. The Maestra Toddler collaborates with other educators and staff to align classroom practices with center policies and standards, and participates in team meetings, training, and family events. Documentation of attendance, incidents, and developmental milestones is also part of the day-to-day responsibilities. Qualifications
• Ability to design and facilitate developmentally appropriate learning activities and routines for toddlers.
• Strong skills in classroom supervision, behavior guidance, and ensuring a safe, nurturing environment.
• Effective communication skills for interaction with children, families, and colleagues, including clear documentation and parent updates.
• Capacity to work collaboratively in a team, follow center procedures, and adapt to the needs of diverse children and families.
• Experience working with toddlers in an early childhood or childcare setting; formal training in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred.
• Knowledge of child development and best practices in early learning, including social-emotional support and positive guidance.
• Reliability, patience, and empathy, with the physical ability to engage in active play and care tasks throughout the day.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and comply with all local childcare licensing and safety requirements.
