About YZi Labs YZi Labs is a global investment and incubation platform supporting founders and technologies that redefine how value moves across the internet. We invest in and help build companies across blockchain, AI, and biotech, with a capital structure that spans both equity and tokens. We back ventures from early-stage to special situations, and operate with long-term alignment — combining capital with operational expertise. Our distributed team brings deep experience across private equity, crypto ventures, and institutional finance. Role overview We are hiring a Hong Kong-based Finance Manager to own the finance function for our limited partnership funds together with their general partner and related SPV entities. The role covers four areas: fund accounting and reporting; audit and statutory compliance; financial operations and treasury support; and investor reporting, portfolio oversight and deal support. This is a senior, hands-on role. You will keep each fund’s books, partner capital accounts and NAV accurate and on time, make sure capital calls, distributions and payments are well controlled and documented, and lead the annual audit cycle from planning to sign-off. You will be the main finance contact for fund administrators, auditors, tax advisers, corporate secretaries, banks, custodians and the funds’ responsible person. It suits someone who has run fund finance for private equity or venture capital funds, started their career in audit, and wants broad ownership in a lean, fast-moving team. At Manager level, you will own deliverables end to end with minimal review, set and improve fund finance processes and controls, review and guide the work of junior team members, and work closely with the investment, legal, compliance and treasury teams across our international structure.

Key responsibilities
1.
Fund accounting and reporting Own the books and records of the limited partnership funds, their general partner(s) and related SPVs, whether maintained in-house or by a fund administrator, including journal entries, accruals and ledger maintenance. Lead the monthly and quarterly close and NAV process: bank, custodian and wallet reconciliations, investment valuations, fee and expense accruals, and detailed review of fund administrator NAV packs. Maintain partner capital accounts and allocate income, expenses and gains and losses among partners in line with the limited partnership agreement (LPA). Calculate and review management fees, fund expenses, distribution waterfalls and carried interest, including hurdle, catch-up, clawback and equalisation mechanics where applicable. Account for fund investments across equity (ordinary and preferred shares, SAFEs, convertible notes, warrants) and token positions: cost basis, fair value, impairments, and realised vs unrealised gains and losses. Prepare annual fund financial statements including investment entity disclosures and schedules of investments. Draft accounting positions for new or complex transactions (e.g., partial exits, secondaries, in-kind distributions, convertible instruments, token warrants). 2.
Audit and statutory compliance Own the annual external audit of each fund and related entities end to end: agree timelines, prepare audit schedules and supporting documents, respond to auditor queries, resolve audit adjustments and management letter points, and take financial statements through to general partner approval. Act as the main finance contact for external auditors, fund administrators, corporate secretaries, tax advisers and legal counsel. Keep fund statutory compliance on track with the corporate secretary and legal team, including annual returns and change notifications to the Companies Registry and maintenance of the register of partners. Support the funds’ responsible person on anti-money laundering (AML/CTF) and investor due diligence records, and maintain the related finance documentation. Coordinate tax compliance for the funds and general partner: profits tax returns, analysis and documentation for the unified fund exemption and carried interest tax concession (including new IRD notification and substance requirements as they come into effect), and FATCA / CRS reporting. 3.
Financial operations and treasury support Run the capital call and distribution cycle: calculate partner allocations, prepare call and distribution notices, track receipts, and follow up on outstanding partner contributions. Support investment closings and exits: arrange funding of subscriptions, collect signed transaction documents, share certificates and updated cap tables, receive proceeds, and record transactions accurately. Manage fund cash: daily cash positions, liquidity forecasts, FX conversions and operating reserves, working closely with the Treasury team. Prepare and review fiat and on-chain payments with full supporting documents and a clear approval trail in line with the approval matrix. Support bank and custodian relationships: account opening and KYC, mandate and signatory updates, and digital asset custody and wallet controls. Review service-provider invoices and fund expenses (fund administrators, auditors, legal, custody, corporate secretary) against the LPA, engagement terms and budgets. Design, document and improve fund finance controls and workflows, and look for ways to automate reconciliations, waterfall calculations and reporting. 4.
Investor reporting, portfolio oversight and deal support Prepare and review periodic partner reporting: capital account statements, fund financial reports, schedules of investments and fund performance (IRR, TVPI, DPI, MOIC). Respond to partner and investor queries, due diligence questionnaires and information requests on fund finance matters. Maintain fund-level investment records (cost, ownership, instrument terms, valuation, realisations) and reconcile them to cap tables, share registers and token holdings. Lead quarterly fair value and impairment reviews with the investment team (e.g., recent round pricing, comparables, milestone analysis), and prepare fund reporting for management and the general partner. Support the investment team on financial due diligence for new deals as needed: review target financial statements, KPIs, cap tables and deal terms, flag key financial, tax and structuring risks, and assess how a proposed investment will be funded, held and accounted for at fund level. Must-have qualifications 8–12 years of relevant experience, including accounting, financial operations and treasury support for private equity or venture capital funds. Audit experience, ideally with a Big 4 or mid-tier firm, plus a track record of managing external fund audits from the client side. Degree in accounting, finance or a related field; qualified CPA, ACCA, CA or equivalent. Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, including investment entity accounting and fair value measurement; US GAAP exposure is a plus. Hands-on experience with limited partnership fund mechanics: capital calls, distributions, management fees, waterfalls, carried interest and partner capital accounts. Experience overseeing fund administrators and working with banks and custodians on payments, cash management and account administration. Working knowledge of fund compliance and tax, such as the Limited Partnership Fund Ordinance, profits tax, the unified fund exemption and FATCA / CRS. Fluent spoken and written Chinese, with the ability to read and review Chinese-language documents. Fluent written and spoken English; confident working with senior internal stakeholders and external advisers. Based in Hong Kong, with the right to work in Hong Kong. Excellent Excel / Google Sheets skills, including waterfall and fund models, reconciliations and large datasets. Detail-oriented and organised, with an ownership mindset and the ability to work independently in a lean, high-autonomy team. Preferred background Big 4 audit experience with asset management, private equity or venture capital fund clients. Experience in finance at a PE or VC fund manager, a family office or a fund administrator. Direct experience with LPFs or OFCs, and with Cayman or BVI fund and SPV structures. Experience with token accounting, digital asset custody or crypto fund operations; working knowledge of crypto wallets, exchanges and explorers. Experience automating finance tasks with AI, such as building and using AI skills, agents or workflows (e.g., Claude, Codex or equivalents). Familiarity with accounting systems (e.g., Xero, NetSuite), fund administrator portals and cap table tools (e.g., Carta). Transaction services or financial due diligence experience, or deal support for a PE / VC investment team. Experience supervising or mentoring junior finance staff.
