Who we are
EPPA is a specialised management consultancy that creates value for its clients by helping them to manage risks and opportunities arising from the ever-changing European political, regulatory and socio-economic landscape.
Established in 1987, EPPA is a respected multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural consultancy with a pan-European reach. Our impressive track record in resolving major challenges related to public policy, regulatory affairs and societal issues is founded upon our in-depth knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the European and national political interface.
Our unique approach focuses on creating a constructive dialogue with policy-makers; a dialogue that is cognizant of Europe’s rich cultural diversity. We work with all industry sectors, although we are particularly recognised for our work in the fields of sustainability, agriculture, food & beverages, chemicals, energy, financial and other services, transport, ICT, as well as competition and trade issues. Our clients are mostly multi-national companies, but we also serve European or national industry federations and public authorities.
Job description
We are looking for an experienced communications officer to join and strengthen EPPA’s existing communications and marketing team. Working closely with the team and our consultants, you will contribute to both EPPA’s own communications and the communications that support our clients’ advocacy work, including the following tasks: EPPA communications and brand
• Help develop EPPA’s communications strategy together with the marketing team, and lead its implementation.
• Manage EPPA’s digital presence across LinkedIn, the website and email, monitoring performance through analytics and regular reporting.
• Write engaging content in English, including articles, thought-leadership pieces, social media posts, newsletters and email campaigns, that positions EPPA as a reference voice on EU policy.
• Lead the development of EPPA’s newsletters and propose new formats that support business development and corporate objectives.
• Work with the marketing team on materials such as brochures, presentations, social media templates and visual assets. Client communications and advocacy
• Support consultants in designing and implementing communications for client advocacy campaigns, coalitions and joint initiatives.
• Draft and edit client-facing materials, including position papers, briefing notes, op-eds, press releases, joint letters, campaign one-pagers and stakeholder emails.
• Plan and manage social media and digital outreach for client campaigns, including content calendars, visuals and performance reporting.
• Help clients sharpen their messaging so that technical, regulatory and scientific arguments are clear and persuasive for EU decision-makers.
• Support media relations where relevant, including press lists, outreach and media monitoring. Internal communications and events
• Develop internal communications that keep our geographically dispersed team informed, connected and aligned.
• Support the organisation of EPPA and client events, webinars and roundtables, from invitations and materials to follow-up communications.
• Use AI tools in your daily work, for drafting, research, monitoring, visuals and analytics, and help the team adopt good practices that improve quality and efficiency. Profile Required
• Degree in Communications, Journalism, Political Science, European Studies or a related field.
• 4-5 years of experience in communications, PR, journalism or public affairs, ideally including campaign or advocacy communications.
• Excellent writing and editing skills in English, with the ability to adapt tone and format for policymakers, technical experts, clients and general audiences.
• Genuine interest in EU policy and the ability to quickly grasp regulatory and scientific topics.
• Strong organisational skills, exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage several projects and deadlines in parallel.
• Proven ability to work autonomously while being a strong team player, comfortable working in an international, multicultural and geographically dispersed team.
• Experience with WordPress, Mailchimp and Adobe Creative Suite (e.g. Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere).
• Hands-on experience using generative AI tools in communications work, with sound judgement on accuracy, tone and confidentiality, especially when handling client information.
• Previous experience in a public affairs consultancy, trade association or EU institution in Brussels is a plus.
• Familiarity with Adobe Marketo, Microsoft Dynamics or Power BI is a plus.
• Excellent English; French or other EU languages are an added value.
We offer
• A competitive package of remuneration and contract starting as soon as possible.
• An international, intellectually stimulating, working environment. Develop deep knowledge on how consultancy and EU public & regulatory affairs work, and to grow professionally and to develop networks in this field.
• Comfortable office and excellent location in the heart of the European Quarter, with all the necessary facilities for flexible working.
