Company Description ETSA – the European Textile Services Association – represents and promotes the textile rental and textile services sector across Europe. The association focuses on regulatory affairs, industry advocacy, and the promotion of best practices among member companies and national associations. ETSA supports research that demonstrates the environmental, economic, and social benefits of textile services, particularly in the context of circular economy solutions. The organization provides a platform for collaboration and knowledge exchange between industry professionals. ETSA is committed to raising awareness of how textile services contribute to resource efficiency and sustainability in Europe.
Role Description The EU Policy Manager – Textile Services will lead ETSA’s public affairs and policy work, with a focus on EU-level legislation and regulations that impact the textile services sector. This full-time hybrid role is based in the Brussels Region, Belgium, with the flexibility to work from home part of the time. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring EU policy and regulatory developments, analyzing proposals, and preparing policy briefs, position papers, and advocacy materials for members and external stakeholders. The role involves representing ETSA in meetings with EU institutions, industry partners, and allied organizations, as well as organizing and participating in working groups, events, and consultations. The EU Policy Manager will also support communication on regulatory topics, contribute to research projects, and help members understand the implications of EU policies on circular economy, sustainability, and textile services.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of EU institutions, legislative processes, and public policy, preferably related to sustainability, circular economy, or textiles.
Experience in policy analysis, regulatory affairs, or public affairs, including drafting policy briefs, position papers, and advocacy documents.
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; additional EU languages (such as French or German) are an asset.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with policymakers, industry stakeholders, associations, and partners at European level.
Experience organizing and facilitating meetings, working groups, conferences, or stakeholder events.
Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex regulatory information into clear guidance.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively in a small, international team environment.
Demonstrated interest in environmental policy, circular economy, resource efficiency, or related sustainability topics.
University degree in law, political science, public policy, European studies, economics, or a related field.
Prior experience in a trade association, NGO, consultancy, or EU institution is an advantage.
