About the team: Keysight Design Engineering Software (DES) is Keysight's integrated software portfolio that unifies design, simulation, validation, and optimization across multiple engineering disciplines. The DES AI team supports the different DES business units (BU) in building AI-powered features into their products – by delivering architecture blueprints, software frameworks, collaborating on policy issues, and driving adoption through hackathons. We are not a research group: we partner with the product teams that own those roadmaps, and everything we build is aimed at shipping into software that engineers depend on. About the Job: We are looking for a Software Team Lead who has lead teams which have built and shipped complex, high-reliability systems and wants to spend the next stage of their career applying AI to real design engineering products. As the DES AI team, we support other BUs as they grow the AI capabilities of the DES product portfolio. The successful candidate will staff, motivate, and lead a cross-functional, agile platform development team to deliver. You will inspire your team to achieve more than they thought possible with a superb level of software craftsmanship.

Responsibilities:
• Work with your Product Owner and DES stakeholders to agree on a challenging, yet realistic, product roadmap for your team. Then, earn the trust of your stakeholders by consistently delivering.
• Lead your cross-functional team to deliver the DES AI platform roadmap in a timely fashion, driving our customers’ adoption of agentic workflows for design engineering problems.
• Work together with your leadership peers across the DES organization to surface dependencies and coordinate work to maximize the overall success of the DES business units.
• Motivating the team’s curiosity, design and delivery of product enhancements and new innovative solutions.
• Through professional growth, mentoring, performance management, and/or hiring, build a team of high-performance developers, quality engineers, product owners who embody your same passion for rapid incrementalism with sustained and repeated delivery.
• With the agile mindset as your guide, instill a sense of true product ownership in your team.

About You You are self-motivated and have a proven track record of leading teams developing complex software in large enterprises, with a strong background in software engineering principles. You are a proactive and energetic person with a desire to contribute collaboratively to the development of the team and the company. You have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. You're excited to work in an agile platform team which owns the responsibility of shared components which are used by other teams, and support these teams as they implement, test, deploy and operator the platform capabilities. Qualifications:
• Bachelors or Master or University Degree or equivalent plus directly relevant experience as a manager, supervisor and/or individual contributor.
• Experience with building AI platforms – such as chatbot interfaces and agentic workflows – or experience managing teams that build these platforms.
• Hands-on exposure to AI or LLM-based development, including prompt engineering, RAG, tool or function calling, or agentic frameworks such as Microsoft Agentic Framework, OpenCode or Google Agent Development Kit. Personal or side projects count.
• Strong interest in learning and applying AI techniques, and evidence that you pick up new technologies quickly.
• Experience working in large, international organizations.
• Solid knowledge of, and demonstrated ability to implement, Agile, Lean, XP development practices. To you, agile is more than a set of certifications on your resume/CV.
• Proven experience mentoring and coaching your direct reports. You lead via positive reinforcement but also know when to cut yours, and the team’s, losses.
• Sociable, collaborative, proactive, pragmatic and enthusiastic.
• A deep understanding of Software Engineering gained through relevant, first-hand experience. You are equally comfortable in status meetings, code reviews, and design discussions.
• Clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to explain tradeoffs (across technical and non-technical domains) to engineers and business stakeholders.
• Excellent design and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications:
• Experience in semiconductor, EDA, or other engineering domains is a plus.
