• English: Professional proficiency Role Overview We are looking for a CPE Security Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Telecom, Cable and Broadband product security testing and certification. The consultant will lead security validation and certification activities for Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) and related telecom services. The role combines security testing, vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, troubleshooting, telecom domain expertise, and test automation. The successful candidate should be comfortable working across complex telecom environments and collaborating with Product, Engineering, Architecture, Security, and Vendor teams.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead CPE security testing, validation and certification activities.
• Define and maintain the security test strategy, test plans, test cases and execution approach.
• Perform security assessments, vulnerability testing and penetration/security validation.
• Analyse security defects, logs and technical failures and perform root-cause analysis.
• Validate security requirements across CPE, broadband and home-networking environments.
• Drive test automation initiatives for repeatable security and functional validation.
• Perform end-to-end testing across INT, UAT and production-related environments.
• Support BAT walkthroughs, test-data preparation, and defect management.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Architecture, and external Vendor teams.
• Troubleshoot complex network, application, and device-level issues.
• Provide SME support and mentor junior engineers. Mandatory CPE Security Skills
• Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in Telecom/Cable/Broadband security or testing.
• Strong experience with CPE Security Testing & Certification.
• Network Security & Vulnerability Assessment.
• Hands-on Security Validation / Penetration Testing.
• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix and IP Networking.
• Security and functional test planning, execution, and defect management.
• Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills.
• Strong Telecom/Broadband/CPE domain knowledge. Mandatory Telecom Domain Knowledge Hands-on knowledge or testing experience covering:
• 4G/5G handover scenarios.
• VoWiFi and VoLTE testing, including physical handset testing.
• Telecom CSS/BSS/OSS environments.
• Mobile Number Portability (MNP).
• Subscriber/service provisioning.
• Rating and billing validation.
• Telecom network topology.
• Call tracing and failure analysis.
• End-to-end telecom service validation. Mandatory Test Automation Skills
• Strong hands-on Java 17 experience.
• Playwright for test automation.
• TestNG.
• Experience developing or maintaining hybrid automation frameworks covering UI + API + Database validation.
• REST and SOAP API testing, validation and automation.
• Strong SQL skills for test-data setup, querying and validation.
• GitLab CI/CD pipelines – integration, automated execution and troubleshooting.
• ELK / Kibana for log investigation and failure/root-cause analysis.
• End-to-end validation across INT / UAT / PRD environments.
• Strong experience with test data and defect management. Preferred / Added-Value Skills
• Security certifications such as CISSP, CEH, OSCP, SANS or equivalent.
• Knowledge of ISO 27001 security principles.
• WiFi Security.
• Mobile Security.
• Network and Application Security.
• Experience with DOCSIS, FTTH, CATV and STB technologies.
• Home Networking / Residential Gateway knowledge.
• Security or functional test automation experience.
