The Director of Information Technology is responsible for leading the strategic roadmap, operational excellence, and lifecycle governance of all Information Technology (IT) and Audio-Visual (AV) environments across the Club. This executive role oversees enterprise systems, cybersecurity architecture, network infrastructure, event AV production, background music (BGM) distribution, and technological alignment with overall club business objectives.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on, strategic technology leader capable of establishing a pragmatic defense-in-depth security posture, modernizing AV/event operational capabilities and maintaining high-availability hospitality systems (POS, ERP, Member Portal). Additionally, the Director must be able to articulate technical concepts as the primary technology advisor to the Digital Infrastructure Committee and Senior Leadership – bridging the gap between daily operational realities and the Club’s multi-year enterprise architecture vision.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Cybersecurity & Defense Architecture
Establish, operationalize, and enforce a robust defense-in-depth security framework (e.g., NIST CSF, CIS Controls, ISO 27001) across on-premise networks, cloud workloads, and IoT/AV endpoints
Proactively manage endpoint detection and response (EDR), Next-Gen Firewalls (NGFW), Identity and Access Management (IAM/MFA), network segmentation (VLANs), and email security gateways to mitigate threats
Lead incident response planning, root-cause analysis, vulnerability remediation, and staff security awareness training to prevent recurring security incidents
Ensure compliance with data privacy standards, data backup integrity, disaster recovery (DR) testing, and business continuity protocols
Audio-Visual (AV), Event Tech & Background Music (BGM) Operations
Architect, configure, and maintain the Club's dedicated AV network infrastructure, including AV-over-IP architectures, digital signal processors (DSPs), zoned BGM distribution, and digital signage
Ensure seamless execution and zero-downtime AV operational support for high-profile Club banquets, private member events, corporate seminars, and hybrid board meetings
Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs), proactive diagnostic routines, and rapid-response workflows to eliminate audio dropouts, video routing latency, and display failures
Evaluate emerging AV and smart facility technologies (e.g., Dante audio, Crestron/Q-SYS automation, wireless mic frequency management, LED wall staging) to elevate member event experiences
Enterprise Infrastructure & Cloud Systems
Maintain high availability, performance, and monitoring for core hospitality and club management systems, including Point of Sale (POS), Club ERP / CRM, HRMS, and digital communications platforms (e-news, member app, digital signage)
Administer Microsoft 365 (M365) tenant security, Entra ID, Microsoft cloud environments, Amazon Web Services hosting, and physical/virtual server infrastructure
Oversee wired/wireless network topology (switches, access points, guest/staff captive portals), ensuring optimal bandwidth allocation between hospitality POS traffic, member Wi-Fi, and AV data streams
Leadership, Financial Governance & Vendor Management
Manage the IT & AV operational (OPEX) and capital (CAPEX) budgets, maximizing return on technology investments and optimizing service licensing costs
Negotiate, manage, and regularly evaluate SLAs and performance metrics for third-party hardware/software vendors, telecommunications carriers, MSPs, and AV integrators
Serve as the primary technology advisor and liaison to Club Management, General Committees, and Department Heads
Lead, mentor, and upskill the IT and AV support team, fostering a culture of technical curiosity, member-first customer service, and proactive troubleshooting
Skills & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Security, or a related technology discipline
10+ years of IT management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Experience in hospitality industry would be an advantage
Practical understanding of security frameworks (NIST, CIS Controls); recognized certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, CEH, or equivalent) are highly advantageous
Solid foundation in IP routing, switching, and firewall security (Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Fortinet NSE, or equivalent); Microsoft Certified (Azure / M365 Administrator) or AWS Cloud certification
Familiarity with AV network standards (Dante, Q-SYS, Crestron NVX, HDBaseT) and certification/training (e.g., AVIXA CTS, Dante Certification Levels 1–3) is a strong plus
PMP or ITIL Foundation certification preferred
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the executive presence to engage with General Managers, Board/Committee Members, VIP Club Members, and technical teams
