For our Headquarters in Hasselt we are looking for a Frontend Software Engineer (React, React Native). We're looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Frontend Software Engineer who enjoys working in a great team and an exciting industry. Every flight is a coordinated effort. Pilots, cabin crew, the OCC and other stakeholders need to stay connected in real time—even on mobile devices with limited connectivity at 35,000 feet. Our software is used every flight day, so reliability matters. Your role As a Frontend Software Engineer, you'll work on AVIOBOOK Connect, our fast-growing chat application that keeps aviation teams connected. You'll focus on the mobile and web apps that crews and operational teams use every day, tackling technical challenges such as:
• Offline-first behaviour and limited connectivity on mobile devices
• Local data storage and synchronisation with the backend
• Real-time communication and UI state
• Fast, reliable and intuitive user experiences on iOS, Android and web
• Secure, production-ready software You'll own features end-to-end, from refinement to production. You remain responsible for how your apps perform when real crews use them. How you'll work You'll collaborate closely with Product Owners, Designers, Backend Engineers and other stakeholders to turn requirements into high-quality software. You'll contribute to the frontend architecture, make technical decisions and deliver tangible value in an Agile environment. You'll also take an active role in the operational side of your features, from identifying risks and performance bottlenecks to troubleshooting production issues using tools such as logs, crash reporting and APM. • Have proven experience building and shipping React Native apps to production (iOS and Android)
• Have strong React & TypeScript experience
• Build high-quality, accessible, secure and well-tested software
• Know how to manage complex app state, data fetching and real-time updates (e.g. WebSockets)
• Take end-to-end ownership of features from refinement to production
• Understand security, testing, performance and reliability on mobile and web
• Apply security best practices, including OWASP and GDPR
• Contribute to architecture and technical decisions
• Proactively solve problems, identify risks and improve processes
• Are comfortable troubleshooting production issues and operational challenges
• Communicate well and enjoy collaboration, mentoring and knowledge sharing
• Are eager to learn, grow and leverage AI tooling
• Are organized, flexible, positive and result-driven

• An interest in aviation
