We are looking for an experienced Senior DevSecOps Engineer to join a large-scale international environment supporting critical digital platforms and information systems within European institutions. Based in Brussels, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, security, scalability and operational excellence of complex on-premises and cloud-hosted environments.
You will work within multicultural and multilingual teams responsible for the management, automation and continuous improvement of enterprise infrastructure, cloud platforms, databases and CI/CD ecosystems. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to strategic digital transformation initiatives, applying modern DevSecOps, cloud security and infrastructure automation practices in mission-critical environments.
What you'll do
• Design, implement and maintain secure, scalable and highly available infrastructure solutions across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Manage infrastructure provisioning, scaling and disaster recovery using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
• Develop and maintain DevSecOps pipelines, integrating automated testing, security controls, quality gates and deployment automation.
• Implement and manage CI/CD processes to ensure efficient and reliable software delivery.
• Automate deployments using modern release strategies, including blue-green and canary deployments.
• Implement GitOps practices for infrastructure and application configuration management.
• Manage and optimise Linux-based environments and enterprise database infrastructures.
• Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations and optimisation activities, including Oracle to PostgreSQL migrations.
• Develop and maintain ETL processes and data integration solutions supporting business intelligence platforms.
• Monitor system performance, availability and security through observability and monitoring solutions.
• Manage incident response activities, troubleshooting and root cause analysis for production environments.
• Implement security controls including secrets management, software supply-chain security and least-privilege access models.
• Support containerised and Kubernetes-based environments.
• Optimise infrastructure, application performance and cloud resource utilisation.
• Apply FinOps practices to monitor and control cloud expenditure.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures and knowledge-sharing materials.
• Provide Level 3 support by investigating issues across applications, databases, infrastructure and repositories.
• Collaborate closely with architects, developers, project managers and infrastructure teams to deliver secure and reliable digital services. What we're looking for
• University degree corresponding to Level 7 of the European Qualifications Framework (typically Master's level or 5 years of higher education).
• Minimum 15 years of professional IT experience.
• Minimum 15 years of experience administering and managing Linux/Unix environments.
• Minimum 15 years of experience administering and managing database servers.
• Minimum 15 years of experience working with ETL processes and relational databases including Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Minimum 7 years of experience with monitoring and log management platforms such as Splunk, Dynatrace or Prometheus.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with container technologies such as Docker and/or Podman.
• Strong experience designing and operating large-scale enterprise information systems.
• Proven experience establishing and managing deployment pipelines and release management processes.
• Strong understanding of DevSecOps methodologies within Agile environments.
• Knowledge of cloud security architectures and security best practices.
• Experience with at least one programming language such as Python, Java or PHP.
• Strong experience with Apache Tomcat administration and management.
• Expertise in relational and NoSQL databases, including performance optimisation and schema design.
• Experience with REST APIs, SOAP services and Apache Kafka.
• Strong knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes and cloud-native deployment models.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, automation tools and scripting technologies.
• Hands-on experience with Git, Bitbucket, Maven, Gradle, Bamboo or similar platforms.
• Strong knowledge of Linux distributions such as RedHat, Ubuntu, Debian or equivalent.
• Experience with automation technologies including Bash, Shell Scripting, Ansible and Perl.
• Knowledge of networking concepts including DNS, Load Balancing, Firewalls, VPNs and network troubleshooting.
• Experience with authentication and security technologies such as LDAP, Kerberos, OpenSSL and related protocols.
• Excellent communication skills in English and French (minimum B2 level in both languages).
• Ability to work effectively in international, multicultural and highly collaborative environments.
