Job Description
Ashoka is looking for senior-level professionals in Revenue and Partnership Development who can provide our staff and Fellows with professional consults and project based engagement. We are creating an elite team of 10-15 members from different world regions (to reflect cultural contexts and language) in this field and in nine others of similarly high-value skillsets. We are calling these members Ashoka Professional Support Partners (PSPs) rather than "volunteers" to reflect the expertise and commitment to impact they will bring to our global community. As an Ashoka Support Partner your expertise will be promoted to staff and Fellows over the course of two to three months. If there is a need that meets your interests and availability, an introduction will be made so that you can learn more details about the support partnership and ways that you can contribute. Until that time your name and contact details will be held confidentially to protect your privacy. The goal of this initiative is to remove many of the barriers that prevent staff and our mission driven Fellows from recruiting the support that they need. As Steve Jobs once said upon introducing the iMac, "People don't know what they want until you show it to them." By showing them exceptional professionals who are willing and available to help we aim to jump start a wealth of program support that will enhance and propel programs and social impact around the world. Strategic Resource Development As a Resource Development PSP you would apply your strategic fundraising and partnership knowledge and skills while providing high-level guidance to shape an organization's future. Key applications of your expertise might include: Design and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies aligned with organizational goals Help identify major donors, foundations, and corporate partners Lead the development of multi-year funding roadmaps and sustainability plans Grant Writing & Management Identify relevant grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government sources Write compelling grant proposals or help staff do so by providing templates Mentor staff and junior volunteers in grant writing best practices Partnership Development Help build strategic alliances with corporate partners, special donors, and key stakeholders Develop innovative collaboration models that create mutual value Leadership & Capacity Building Provide strategic counsel to executive leadership and board members Develop training materials and conduct workshops for staff and volunteers Establish systems and processes for sustainable fundraising operations The goal of this pilot is to remove many of the barriers that prevent staff and our mission driven Fellows from recruiting the crucial support that they need. Experience:
7+ years of professional experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, or related field Proven track record of securing substantial grants and major gifts Demonstrated success in partnership development Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives Essential Skills Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities Strategic thinking with ability to translate vision into actionable plans Strong relationship-building and networking capabilities Proficiency with CRM systems and fundraising databases Self-directed with excellent project management skills CFRE certification or equivalent professional credentials Experience in capacity building and organizational development Knowledge of current philanthropic trends and best practices Previous board or senior leadership experience English fluency as well as fluency in the predominant language of your region
