We are hiring a PRC-qualified IP lawyer in Shanghai.
Equasia Law is a Chinese law firm with an international perspective. Our clients build, license and defend IP across Asia, and we support them at every stage, from protection to commercialization to enforcement. We also advise the same clients on their wider corporate, commercial and dispute needs.
You would handle real matters from day one, with direct exposure to international clients and cross-border issues.
The role
You will work with our team on IP matters in Shanghai. IP will be your main focus, but this is a full lawyer role, and you will also handle general corporate, commercial and dispute work as it arises. Expect real responsibility early: running matters, drafting advice and documents in English and Chinese, and dealing with clients directly.
What you will work on
- IP: trademark, copyright, design and patent strategy, registration and enforcement in China
- IP licensing, technology transfer and commercialization
- Commercial contracts where IP is at stake: manufacturing, supply, distribution, joint ventures
- AI, data and technology compliance under PRC law
- General corporate and commercial work: legal counsel, day-to-day advisory, contract drafting and review
- Litigation, arbitration and non-contentious work, including cross-border matters What we are looking for
- Active PRC lawyer license, in good standing, with no disciplinary record
- 1 to 3 years of post-qualification experience, with a focus on IP
- Fluent English and native-level Mandarin
- Clear communication and precise writing, in both languages
- Organized, diligent, and comfortable owning your work in a small team
- Genuine interest in IP and technology
Location:
Shanghai.
Salary:
negotiable, depending on experience. If you want to build a career in international IP practice in China, send your CV in English and Chinese to amelie.zhu@equasia-law.com
