Tuen Mun Duties We are looking for an energetic and innovative engineer to join the Generation Engineering Department of our Generation Business Group. Reporting to Senior Engineer of the Process Control and Cyber Security Section of the Engineering Branch, the appointee will be responsible for leading a multi-disciplinary work team to provide high-quality engineering and project services to our generation business in process control, networking, cyber security. Major Duties include:
• Manage the integrity of power plant systems and develop engineering solutions, including design, feasibility studies, performance measurements and plant uplifting, with prudent engineering practices across various areas of power generation, such as Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), real-time condition monitoring systems and data acquisition systems, while managing and performing cybersecurity maintenance for Operational Technology (OT) systems in the plant area.
• Ensure maintenance excellence: Implement all cybersecurity maintenance activities within the Process Control and Instrumentation domain, Fullfed established priorities and performance standards. Ensure that tasks are completed safely, on schedule, and achieve high reliability and efficiency targets. Follow the guidance and support of Senior Engineers for complex troubleshooting, ensuring that critical issues are escalated and resolved promptly to minimize downtime.
• Implement robust maintenance strategies and procedures for control systems. Regularly review and refine cyber security routines maintenance programmers, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation (e.g., predictive maintenance techniques, spare parts optimization) to enhance system reliability and operational efficiency.
• Recommend changes in maintenance work processes with best practices and innovative ideas for continuous improvement;
• Support the development of Cyber security contracting strategies to ensure a close partnership with quality contractors;
• Work as a multi-disciplinary workforce to implement and develop world class cyber security maintenance practices and to deliver reliable quality services to our generation plants to ensure that optimum level of reliability, efficiency, cost effectiveness, safety, health and environmental standards are met.
• Support major control system operating software upgrade projects and retrofits, working with contractor personnel through Team Leaders during plant outages and project execution. Ensure consistent work quality, adherence to safety procedures, and the achievement of project objectives on time and within budget. Collaborate closely with other departments, including Operations and Group Engineering/Digital, to align PC&CS initiatives with broader business goals and operational requirements. Requirements
• A recognized university in related discipline plus at least 3 years of relevant working experience.
• Experience in installation and/or maintenance of major process control systems, such as Schneider Electric DCS – IA Series, ABB DCS – Symphony Plus, Siemens DCS – T3000 Series, GE Mark VIe Turbine Control System and data acquisitions systems;
• Solid understanding on modern industrial network topology such as TCP-IP, Modbus, PROFIBUS etc. and network equipment O&M such as switches, router, firewall configuration and troubleshooting techniques. Understanding of procession of qualification on networking, such as CCNA, is an advantage;
• Conversant with NIST Cybersecurity Framework, NERC-CIP, ISO 27000 series standards on Cybersecurity are an advantage;
• Able to prioritise competing opportunities;
• Good hands-on contractual & commercial skill on top of the typical technical competency. Previous experience in managing large scale contracts as Contract Responsible Officer is desirable;
• Proven supervisory, interpersonal, influencing and communication skills;
• Fluency in English and Chinese speaking and writing, Putonghua would be advantageous;
