Role Description The Youth Dance Instructor is a part-time, on-site role based in Hong Kong SAR. In this position, the instructor leads age-appropriate dance classes for children, demonstrating routines, teaching technique, and creating a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning lesson content, preparing music and choreography, managing class schedules, and ensuring student safety and well-being. The instructor communicates with parents or caregivers as needed, provides feedback on student progress, and collaborates with the BallroomBees team to support events, performances, and program development. This role requires reliable on-site presence across designated teaching locations.
Qualifications
• Experience in teaching children’s dance classes, youth education, or coaching in a structured group setting.
• Strong dance background in styles suitable for children (e.g., ballroom, jazz, creative movement, or similar), with solid technique and performance skills.
• Ability to design engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans and choreography that promote learning, confidence, and fun.
• Excellent communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills, with a calm and supportive approach to working with children and families.
• Organizational skills to manage schedules, class preparation, and coordination across multiple locations.
• Comfort working in a fast-growing, team-oriented environment and openness to feedback and continuous improvement.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Cantonese or other languages used in Hong Kong is an advantage.
• Relevant training or qualifications in dance, performing arts, education, or child development are preferred.
• Ability to meet local employment and child safety requirements; prior experience in Hong Kong or similar markets is a plus.
