Ellio emphasizes innovation in digital features and intelligent assistance to enhance the riding experience. Role Description The Digital Product & AI Lead Engineer is a contract role based on-site in Leuven, responsible for driving the design, development, and implementation of Ellio’s digital and AI-driven features. Day-to-day tasks include leading the architecture and development of software systems that power smart bike functionalities, integrating AI models into embedded and cloud-based platforms, and collaborating with product managers, designers, and hardware engineers to align technology solutions with rider needs. The role involves researching and prototyping advanced AI capabilities, optimizing algorithms for real-time performance and safety, and maintaining high standards for code quality, documentation, and testing. The engineer will also mentor team members, manage technical priorities, and ensure that digital product and AI initiatives are delivered on time and aligned with Ellio’s mobility vision. Qualifications
• Strong foundation in Computer Science and Software Development, with experience building scalable, reliable digital products.
• Expertise in Pattern Recognition and Neural Networks, with practical experience applying these methods to real-world systems.
• Hands-on experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP) or related AI domains, including model design, training, and deployment.
• Proficiency in modern programming languages and frameworks relevant to AI and backend/frontend development (e.g., Python, C++, JavaScript, machine learning libraries).
• Experience integrating AI into embedded or IoT devices, and understanding of performance, safety, and reliability constraints.
• Ability to lead technical projects, collaborate in cross-functional teams, and communicate complex concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in mobility, automotive, robotics, or smart devices is an advantage; familiarity with agile development practices is beneficial.
